as a server myself, i hate to leave a review like this. i found a piece of plastic in my food and alerted my server. when we went to settle up, we politely asked for a discount because of the plastic. the worker took $2 off of our $38 bill and told us that if we didn’t like the food, we shouldn’t eat there. when i expressed that it didn’t feel like enough of a discount and didn’t feel comfortable paying almost full price for food with plastic in it, he called the police on us. we didn’t cause a scene or become argumentative, but at this point i wish we did. very disappointing.

We visit Hong Kong Buffet every once in a while when we're not in the mood for other spots in town—it's a reliable fallback option. The buffet offers a solid variety of dishes, which is one of its stronger points. The food tastes decent overall; nothing mind-blowing, but it gets the job done.
That said, it's not the best value for the money. We spent nearly $100 for my wife, myself, and our two kids, which feels pretty pricey for this area. Service can be hit or miss too—sometimes the staff is on top of clearing plates and handling refills quickly, but other times it's slower and less attentive.
Overall, it's okay if you're craving a buffet, but we might explore cheaper alternatives next time.
