My husband and I drive semi and stop in Salina Kansas. Today we tried Mattie’s Grill & Chill. The food was fantastic my husband said that the Mac n cheese was some of the best he has ever tasted. An absolute great place must try.

Just had a really good Beef Taco Salad with chips and salsa. Fresh and flavorful ingredients and homemade salsa. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Friendly staff! Good local restaurant to get some home cooked food. Portions are generous enough where I usually get lunch the next day too!

Good food but not any better than right across the street or many places elsewhere in town The first thing you notice is how dim at front entrance, even on a sunny day. Then you move on to Dingy in dining room. The carpeting is the worse and we wiped our table off as the server stepped away. We all got only water and didn't drink from our glasses...wipe rim and ask for a straw if you're very thirsty. The food was good but after we all were served our plates and had them in our possession awhile the server came back and scooped up my friends meal to take to another table!!!!!! ICK!! That party noticed and I was amazed they didn't say anything. My friend had handled that plate.It was very off-putting. They give you a tiny tub of ketchup with your basket of diner style fried foods. The ones of us that chose french fries for sides...one diner requested ketchup 3 more times and they were not being extravagant. Bring your own ketchup You pay your server..she stacked our payments like tiles and when she came back with them finalized of course she gave our cards to the wrong person. Good thing we looked as we all live way out of the area. We had not seen each other since March 2020. This was our first restaurant outing since Covid and we were not confident at all in the choce (not mine!) of this one for our excursion. The biggest thing was the dinge ( I'm being polite here and avoiding the word dirt) we totally get greasy spoons, hole in the walls and dives but this wasn't fun--just dinge. Instead of being cool on a hot summer day, it was damp. It should be cleaner in there than ever on the heels of Covid. It was not. It's a Shame.

I had fried catfish, wife had chicken fried steak. Both had spicy fried pickles & fried mushrooms. All Delicious!!! Alcoholic drinks were - Mai Tri & Matties Surprise!! Definitely worth dining in, or take out. At a affordable price! ?
