My daughter and I went on a daddy daughter date here and it was a great time! She loves the noodles and the crab meat, they also weren’t oily like at most buffets! I enjoyed the variety of foods and even had some fried tilapia!!! Love it, definitely coming back with my family. Staff were friendly, environment was quiet and peaceful, great first experience overall!

The food here can be hit or miss. Some days it is great, other days it is not. I don't see how they can stay in business this way but the ratings on this restaurant are skewed because the 5* go when they're on their game and the 1* go when they are not. You take a gamble when you go here so just be prepared.
Update: It has gotten a lot better since I last reviewed. It's now between 3 and 5 stars depending on the day. The servers are great though.

Worst experience I have ever had at a buffet. Was here for a 1year old birthday party and the manager was arguing with the grandmother that the entire group of 50 people had to be on one ticket. Instead of doing their jobs of writing up ~20 tickets, please note most of us were in groups of 2 and 4, were seated at different tables from each other and there was no special treatment for the birthday party (it was as if we showed up on our own). The manager ended up giving the grandmother a little napkin that was on the table to make her write down everyone’s order. The mother and father of the birthday girl instead found an actual piece of paper and went to everyone and asked what drink they had and noted if they were an adult, senior, or child. I’m sorry but this is a buffet and you are telling me your establishment can’t track what drink everyone has and most of the party order water? The manager even refused to split the tickets up by tables when we suggested that. Then when it comes to check out she is reading off the list we provided and then in the middle of ringing us up slaps a sticky note on the wall saying 15% gratuity for parties X and bigger out of no where. The way this was all handled was so unprofessional and disrespectful to the grandmother and parents to go through this. On top of where they had us seated, they had other people not part of the group seated with us and had their storage all exposed and I had to find 3 other silverware that was not either rusted or dirty. Will never recommend any one to come here.

I arrived at here on 6457 Quiriva in Shawnee Kansas 11:00 and the food was cold place but it was clean, if they start there heating tables earlier the food would have been fine warmer. The price was good about $13 a person w/tax. I will try a day for dinner and the food will have to be hot

To start, I walked into the place and ordered a to-go. $15 for everything you can fit in a box: awesome!
The lady at the front was nice and the place looked clean. I got my food which included: fried shrimp, general’s chicken, noodles, short rip, onion rings, rangoons, and Chinese donuts. I got it all and left.
When I got home, sat down and enjoyed my food. Tasted just fine but it was an hour or two later that my stomach started to not feel great at all. Ended up kneeling in front of the toilet not 15 minutes later vomiting up everything I ate.
The place seems nice, but I won’t be eating here again.

I have never complained about a restaurant food or service before, but KC Buffet on Shawnee mission parkway is the worst I've ever seen..and I've been going there for a few years..I know buffet food can be hit or miss but Friday, my friends & I had are there and the food had no taste..I asked my friend about her food and she said the same. I went up to get some fruit and there were fruit flies in the jello ..I showed it to or server. he picked the jello up (just the ones with the Fruit flies), took it back to the kitchen and I heard the kitchen staff laughing...I was shocked to say the least.. our bill was $16.54! I paid and am never going back!

Very nice clean and inviting. I visited here for the first time to see the dinner buffet. I did not eat here however- I asked to look at the food options before making this decision only because I do not eat meat. The variety as a vegetarian was very small but that is typical. I wish there were more vegetable options not mixed with meat or tofu available. But if you did eat meat for $12.50 this would be great. They had a large variety that looked very good. They also had sushi and a hibachi option. The inside was clean and inviting.

This place used to be good. Last few times I went the food had drastically went down hill and the finally cut off was the cockroaches smushed in between the clean plates.
