I don't often write reviews but I'm making an exception for Scimeca's. After reading the reviews already posted, I must agree this joint is on its way to being the "go to" Italian restaurant in town!Beyond the excellent food is a team who are clearly focused on delivering a great family dining experience! The couple negative reviews are laughable, as it was opening night/week and anyone dumb enough to write a review based on a restaurant's infancy is just looking for negatives.I'm confident that they will be successful as they grow, because at the root is passion for delivering a great dining experience. Awesome food paired with genuine care is a recipe for success!
Service was on point. She was attentive and the good came out pretty quick. I ordered the fettuccine with grilled chicken and it was okay. Had the toasted ravioli for an app and wouldn't get it again. Slightly overcooked and just not a lot of flavor.

Server was friendly, and the decor was kind of cool. Sadly, that's where the good experience stopped. Restrooms were pretty disgusting. Menu is pretty limited. Kids got spaghetti with a couple of $3 meatballs thrown in. I got the meatball sandwich. Sauce was bland. The meatballs had so much seasoning in them it was hard to stomach, so much do that they had a strangely dark color and weird texture. The bread was spongy. And the Ceasar salad had more croutons than salad. Disappointed.
Absolutely love Mickey’s!! Excellent happy hour that lasts until 7 on weeknights! The people are amazing and attentive. I have never had anything I didn’t like. Appetizers, pizza, pasta & drinks! They really make you feel at home and cater to each customer. A hidden gem you must try!!
So good! We just went there and the food was amazing! Every family member rated it 10 of 10. That's a first. The staff was super nice too. My daughter got the shrimp linguine, I got the chicken, son got calamari. All were 5 star. All the salad dressings were home made! We will go back! Maybe tomorrow.?

Nice surprise. Pepperoni Pizza was Great and Chicken Rollatini was also good. Little disappointed they were out of lasagna but understandable. The Pistachio and Chocolate Cream Pie was unreal. Recommend ?

My husband and I had a delightful lunch at Mickey’s Ristorante. I chose the shrimp and artichoke pizza. It was full of flavor. I had enough left over for two more meals. My husband chose the linguine with sausage and a meatball. He enjoyed his meal and had enough left over for two meals as well. The ambiance was peaceful with smooth music playing in the background. Our waitress was very friendly. I’m planning to return soon.
Very nice staff. Pizza is very good - sauce, crust, toppings.. all great. The pasta is small portions, terrible breadsticks (I mean really bad), and not worth more than 4 dollars. Freezer pasta dinners better. Sorry saying that as it's a local biz and i wish them well. Go have a beer and pizza.
Very rarely do I feel the need to write a poor review before reaching out to an owner of an establishment but tonight was different. We had an absolutely amazing server, Jordan. She truly couldn’t have been sweeter. My son’s pizza was super spicy so she offered to have it remade. My pasta was okay but again, very spicy HOWEVER I didn’t get to finish it because it literally started pouring rain from the ac unit on our table. The “manager” aka owners son ran over while we sat at another table next to ours cleaning it up and bussing food that we still hadn’t ate. Never once really acknowledged us, never said sorry, gave us a whopping 20% discount on our bill although I think I only ate 20% of my mediocre pasta before the flood gates opened. I have worked in this industry for years, managed our family restaurant and now manage a restaurant for a local group….I would have never in a million years reacted the way this guy did. If this family wants their restaurant to be successful they need to provide their son with customer service training and management training. We were really excited to try this place out but we will not be coming back after seeing how poorly the FOH is managed.

My wife and I just moved to Western Shawnee and went out last night to find local restaurants to try.We hit a homer on our first at bat!We decided to try Happy Hour at Mickey's Ristorante, a family owned and operated, unpretentious little restaurant near Sombrero's and The Other Place. If you require over-the-top ambience and decor, this may not be the place for you. BUT... if you want comfort and outstanding made-from-scratch food selections, THIS is THE spot.We had the pleasure of meeting and talking with the Executive Chef, Mike. He proudly described the efforts Mickey's put into making virtually everything from scratch. The sauces, salad dressings (you've got to try their Caesar dressing. I've never been a fan of Caesar, but I am now), even the au jus dip for the Italian beef sandwich are hand-crafted in-house.We had limited exposure to trying the food offerings, but what I was seeing coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled fabulous.I assure you, we will be returning to try other selections from their simple, but varietal menu. It's our turn to recommend a restaurant for a dinner club of friends we belong to, and Mickey's will be our choice. I say that with complete confidence that it will be enjoyed by all.
I enjoy this place! However, this week I tried the Pasta Alfredo with chicken added. Pasta was done well and the chicken was very good. However, I was very disappointed in the Alfredo sauce. It was way too thick, heavy, and paste-like. It also got cold quickly, needed to be served in a preheated bowl. This being said I will return!
BEST ITALIAN I HAVE EVER TRIED !My server Jordan was very quick with the service, she made sure our drinks stayed full, and that we had everything we needed before leaving us to eat. The food was to die for, and you best believe the hype behind the goat cheese dip, it is a must have! I recommend the ristorante to anyone and everyone, they are definitely going places! Also thank you to Mickey, the owner, for coming by and having a quick chat.
Not going back and wouldn’t recommend. Had to ask for kids menus, find our own silverware, and soda was flat. Food took FOREVER to come out, and when it did many items were wrong - wrong pasta type, wrong pizza toppings, etc. Food also came out very spaced out - couple dishes here, couple dishes there. Adult meals before kids (if you have hungry kids you know why this is bad). A simple order of kids butter noodles took 30+ minutes (and at least 10 minutes after everyone else had their food). Food itself is just okay. What type of Italian restaurant doesn’t serve garlic bread??? This was our second time there - first was right after they opened so we figured they’d had enough time to work out the kinks. Clearly that’s not the case, given the service and dirty table next to us no one bussed for over an hour, and we won’t be back to give them another chance. I’d really hoped for a good local Italian place, too :-(
We visited this new restaurant to check it out. We had the Lasagna and Capellini with Shrimp. Both entrees were very good. The Lasagna was very flavorful, but a bit dry, a little marinara sauce on top would have made this a better dish. IMO.A couple of suggestions for them. Serve some bread at the table and possibly a small salad while waiting for the food to be prepared. We will be visiting again soon.
Parking: Ample parking when we visited.
