My wife and I were seated for an hour and a half and our waitress Lea did not offer to refill drinks, ask if we liked our food, or really interact with us at all outside of taking our plates. On top of this, we found a large black hair in our crab rangoons, but she took the plate so fast and then promptly ignored us that we didn’t even get to communicate this. 3 of the 4 rolls I got were good, but I also received my food almost exactly 30 minutes after my wife. Not a pleasant Valentine’s Day experience. Sushi Mido used to be great, but we will not be back!

I’ve eaten at this restaurant twice within the past year. While the service was on the slower side both times, it was understandable, and the food seemed fine while we were eating. Unfortunately, on both occasions, my partner and I became sick within an hour or two after our meal.
The first time, we chalked it up to something else or just a strange coincidence. After it happened a second time—and feeling miserable for the better part of the day—it no longer feels like a coincidence and makes me wonder if there may be an underlying issue.

Parking was a little tight but we were there on a Friday evening. Server was knowledgeable but he didn't seem to love his job. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was full! The Las Vegas and Chiefs rolls were amazing!!!
Top 10 for sure in kansas city maybe even a top 5 spot. Staff was good place was clean food was fresh.

A small family owned business, we have been coming here for almost 10 years as we moved from California and couldn't find anywhere local that did sushi right. This place does sushi right, has good pricing and fast service. Always appreciate that we can order out too . My husband loves the stir fried rice and I could eat the bento box lunch specials , ocean star or midnight fantasy forever . Thank you!

I love this place! Certainly 5 star sushi for the midwest. All-you-can-eat is great and worth it if you're looking to indulge. Service is quick even though it's typically busy at peak hours. Snow white rolls is one of my favorites, their sweet potato based specialty roll is actually quite good as well.

Even though it’s in a different state my friends want to go back. We enjoyed an AYCE sushi lunch out as a group. If you don’t want AYCE you can order combos or a la carte.

The food was fine, but the only draw really seems to be the all you can eat deal (quantity over quality), none of the food was particularly exciting. They don't take reservations so our group of 6 had to get on the list. We were told a 20-30 minute wait and watched tons of smaller groups of 2-4 who came in after us get seated before us. Since we could see the tables this was pretty frustrating and we were seated in about 65 minutes. Our waiter's schtick was being sarcastic/amusingly rude which did not go over well after the wait and how hungry we were.

The sushi here used to be really good. It was my fave sushi place because of the large menu that had sashimi and maki and specialty rolls and more so if people didn’t want sushi they could eat something else. They used to have very good veggie options too for my vegan friends.
Over the last few years they have edited the rolls so that they’re almost all cheap fish. They redid many to be similar ingredients with a heavy emphasis on fake crab. Example: Philadelphia roll is now made with fake crab (surimi) sticks instead of salmon. That’s not actually a Philadelphia roll.
I ordered for the first time in probs a year, a few weeks ago and the sushi was not good. There was hardly any meat in it. The rice was a bit stale. I ended up wasting 25$ out of 60$ of sushi because several of the rolls tasted “off” like the fish was old, enough that I spit out the piece mid bite. I’d move onto a other roll and a few bites in get a bad taste. The sushi molded in the fridge in less than 48 hours which while it may not be 100% their fault, combined with the old fish flavor I am suspicious about the preparation process. Mold spores get introduced from somewhere to be able to grow.
In short I will not be back and it’s sad. This place used to be great.

Honestly, the food here was bland and didn’t have any flavor. The spicy tuna wasn’t spicy, just looked like it was full of red coloring. We did the ayce dinner, nothing stood out for me and it had more avocado than anything. Service was somewhat ok, it was a bit busy. But it took a long time for someone to get our order. Wish it had ayce sashimi.
