Annie's place is a good solid place to eat. Nothing fancy. Service is good. Food is good. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. My family and I ate there on 2/10/2026 and had a very pleasant dinner. Regina, our server, was professional, courteous and worked hard to provide good service. Food was good and serving sizes were adequate. Dinner crowd was light when we were there. I suspect that lunchtime is busier. The facilities were clean, smelled good and this was an overall good experience. Definitely will be back.

Had lunch here for the first time. Staff are very friendly and the service outstanding!
My husband ordered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn and dinner roll. The mashed potatoes were real, not instant! Very good!
I ordered a baked potato with chili and a side salad. Salad was fresh, thousand island dressing was great and the baked potatoes was tender and quite large. The flavor of the chili was great but had a lot of tomatoes and I'm not a fan of beans in my chili. Just my preference.
Again, the staff were amazing. There are a lot of items on the menu we would like to try so we will return.

All of Annie’s place meals, food are very good!
Went about noon on a Saturday! Expected it to be busy but wasn’t too bad. Food was amazing, hot, made well and tasty. Quiche was great, flaky crust, fries were crispy, ranch was made well (think Dennys 25 years ago when made on site with buttermilk) burger tasted like a good burger too and was cooked perfectly. My cup of potatoe soup was thick, chunky and flavorful! We will be back!!!

I've been coming to Annie's Place for almost 2 decades. Friendly environment, baked goods made on premises, not fancy, but good food. IT HAS BEEN SLOWLY GOING DOWNHILL IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND I CAN'T HOLD MY TONGUE ANYMORE. I usually go to Annie's once to twice a month with colleagues. We NO LONGER go to Annie's for lunch because we can no longer wait an hour for service while one poor waitress manages 2 rooms with 3 groups (besides my group of TWO) AND THE FEMALE MANAGER LOOKS AT IDK WHAT ON THE REGISTER FOR OVER 30 MINUTES AND NEVER EVEN OFFERS US WATER AFTER SHE SEATS US AND GIVES US A MENU!!!
The tables we watched had been given food and were given no cutlery or drinks. The waitress almost twisted her knee trying to go faster. All the while the manager was 10ft away from our tables, with no customer infront of her ...looking at receipts!!! SHAME ON YOU. We gave our waitress a great tip, but I can no longer support a restaurant who thinks I am invisible...or their staff fit that matter.

If I could give a Zero across the board I would. But not a option, so I took a few residents out for lunch we ordered our drinks & food. Waited over 20 minutes then had to go ask for our drinks. Finally got those, then food took another 45 mins. One person didn't even get their food. My sweet potato fries were not even cooked all the way. The Roast Beef is sliced sandwich meat. Super disappointed in customer service. Just a lack of even trying and then the change was given in mostly pennies lol. Not one discount offered which was fine but not even a sorry. Like it's a everyday normal thing to do.

This is what you'd call a senior citizen restaraunt with basically cafeteria food. Pricey for what it is. Servers are very kind, but very slow. Obviously sustained by regulars.

I had the BLT on the brioche bun and the only thing the restaurant put on the dry bun was the bacon. I had to ask for mayonnaise and assemble the sandwich myself. The bacon was not hot or crisp! VERY slow service.

Will never be back. The chicken fried steak was obviously a frozen pre made patty that was warmed up. The cod was like a piece of rubber and cold. The kids mac n cheese was reheated blue box, kids fruit contained slimy/old watermelon which I didn’t discover until after my kids ate it, 4 kids corn dog bites on the plate that were dry and cracked. My 5 year old said about the dinner roll: “it looked good but when I ate it, it was disgusting”. For how low the quality was (could have all been microwaved) it took forever to get our food and it wasn’t busy. Overall so disappointed. We were short on time and running late otherwise I would have talked to a manager, and I’m truly not the kind of person to do that unless there is a major problem. $50 for two adult meals and two kids meals that were nearly inedible.

What a disappointment! I have fond memories of Annie's throughout many years. Tonight, my daughter in law and I took my little granddaughters for a nice meal. The only thing fresh was the tap-water! The fish was still cold! The mac-n-cheese was Kraft! The watermelon was slippery! I was sad!
Homemade pies with classic crust, made fresh daily. Classic American cuisine, home style, including excellent burgers, chicken-fried steak etc. Portion sizes are generous, too, so consider ordering your pie as an appetizer! We found Annie's when in town for the Mulvane Art Fair recently and could not get enough of it - a hidden gem in Topeka.
A local alternative to major restaurants. Food was delicious, friendly courteous servers, with a clean and calm atmosphere. One can have a conversation without excessive background noise.
Cajun chicken sandwich & cinnamon roll are delicious. Hits the spot everytime.
