I went to work on my masters coursework this morning. It was so nice out in the shade so I grabbed one of their tables outside. I wasn’t quite ready to order anything yet so I just sat and did some homework for a while. A man comes outside (I am the only person sitting at the outside tables besides one other person) and tells me “you have to leave because you haven’t purchased anything. These tables are not owned by fairlawn plaza, they’re owned by Classic Bean and if you aren’t going to purchase anything you need to leave.” Pretty disappointed as I was just focused on my school work and hadn’t gotten up to order anything yet. I won’t be going back and I’m so glad I didn’t order anything.
PS, whoever it was that came out and told me to leave needs a toothbrush.🥰

I've been going to The Classic Bean for years and previously had great experiences. Last weekend I ordered and received very little gravy (pictures attached). I was charged $5 for a side of gravy. In the past, I was given plenty of sausage gravy. The bacon was smaller than any other time I've ordered it. This sounds petty but when you pay $17 for breakfast, to cut a person on something that small isn't good. That made the total cost $22. That didn't include the Latte.

Extremely large menu to chose from. Coffee to ice cream and almost everything in between.

I love the vibes here so much! First time visiting Topeka, and I stopped here for a late lunch (about 2-3pm on a Monday). I’m used to cafes being jarringly bright and loud, but I didn’t even need to use my headphones while I was here. The carpet and soft seating options does a lot to help mute noise, and all of the lighting was indirect lamps, which really helps the cozy atmosphere.
The food is pretty good, too! I got a blended frappe and the William Byrd, and they gave me a cute plushy frog in lieu of a table number.
If I’m ever back in Topeka, I’ll make sure to come back!

I like classic bean but the staff were rude and the atmosphere is all over the place sometimes it's quite and you can enjoy visiting with friends other times it's so loud it's pointless. Today it was quite. I ordered a smoothie it was fine.

I was really disappointed today and the service I came there this afternoon and I usually get a few things but today I was not comfortable and ended up not getting anything. I just decided to leave. I don’t know if the person is having an off day or what but she was very unpleasant. This was on June 18 after 3 PM. but I highly recommend any of the food items I don’t know about coffee and tea.
Always a calm pleasant experience
Drinks are all delicious!
Great food and service
We used to come here all the time when we lived in Topeka and it was one of my mom's favorite places to go to. The food is very good and the staff are friendly.
