The food was awful. We ordered the chicken fried chicken and meatloaf. The chicken fried chicken had no flavor. The meatloaf had an off flavor. The corn on both dishes was over cooked. I recommend a few drinks first if you decide to eat here. I won’t be going back.

Black Mass cocktail offends Catholics. Hateful!!! Make fun of other religions. Awful. Poor taste for an otherwise place that should be good based on food and beverage choices.

Service was outstanding. Food was ok. BBQ didn't have enough smoke flavor and was dry. Had higher hopes for the meatloaf after reading reviews. Enjoyed the cheese balls, baked bean side and the BBQ sauce. Would probably return and try a few other items on menu.

Great ambiance...interior looks fantastic. Beer was good; glad they had something other than pale ales. Bacon appetizer was good, especially the peanut butter dipping sauce, but bacon needed more cooking time. Crispy bacon is far easier to dip than chewier bacon. Would go back though; it's a nice place to grab a beer, especially after work.

Very...uh...how to say it...artificially refined crowd. Chairs have holes for the sticks up people's but. Service was pretty good, though. Food was alright for the price.

Nice little restaurant. We went there twice while in Topeka for work. The food was very good. Service was eh. The waitress the first time was not as good as the waitress in our second visit.
I had the Cobb salad both times. The first time it came with a topping I'd asked to leave off. The waitress didn't try to make it right in any way. I just picked all the pieces off.
The second salad was delish! Made great, tasted great, and a half salad was plenty.

Uncomfortable seats most were backless stools, waitress forgot lemons for drinks then was upset we requested them, serving size was small, order was incorrect, waitress took 4ever to pickup our card when we already had it out when handed the total. Table and chairs were dirty when went to sit down, no one asked us how are food was or if we needed anything else when food was dropped off, the smoked meatloaf was good but not good enough for me to ever return.

Grate catering! I have used them twice and it is excellent!
We have dined here before and have always had good service but this last time was a terrible experience. It was my birthday and I wanted to eat there, we don’t live in Topeka. Our food took almost an hour and our waitress kept disappearing. People that came in after us were getting their food before us. We considered just leaving but I finally saw our waitress and ask her to go check on our food. We had ordered a brisket sandwich with fries, nothing else. So it wasn’t a complicated dish to fix. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy so I don’t know why there was such a problem.

We eat at the bar when we go out and usually that’s where we get friendly, fun and great service….., but this place was the exception. She kept busy at the “register” after we sat down to her left and didn’t look over to greet us or let us know she’d be right with us etc. She eventually came over and handed us menus and said she’d be with us in a few minutes; no “hello” or anything. She never came up to us after that until it was tone for the check…, but preferred to shout to us from the “register” or from the end of the bar. Never did say hello or how are you or anything friendly at all. I said hello and asked her how she was doing. She said she was ok and didn’t in turn ask us how we were or attempt anything other than what can I get you etc. After someone else brought our food she asked us how the food was tasting…, again from across the bar area. While I was still eating.., and again from across the bar, she asked if we wanted any desert and in addition to the fact that I was still eating, my husband was in the restroom at the time. Now to the food. We had the BLT and wings. The BLT was pretty good but didn’t love the fat on the bacon or that it wasn’t crispy. The garlic aïoli was a little overpowering on the sandwich…, and I love garlic. The fries were barely warm and had been around a while but I liked the seasoning. The wings were good. The ginger peach cider was excellent! Overall, service was poor and the food was ok. I think this bartender should stick with service bar. Will try somewhere else on our next trip to Topeka.
Our visit was on 10/28/24 at 7:15pm. One other couple eating at the bar (who already had their food) and one person with a to-go order.

So glad we stopped here! All the food was fantastic, especially the ribs and meatloaf. Everyone was super friendly as well! The art is also such a highlight, the paintings are enormous and beautifully detailed.
