This is a hidden gem of North Topeka! It was once a speak easy back in the day and has survied to become one of the best eateries around. It's old world charm pairs perfectly with outstanding delicious food and friendly staff. Come see for yourself the next time you want to venture out for an amazing sit down meal.

The food was great, 10/10. But it was about 5-10% pricier than places that are just as good and more conveniently located.

Very small dark dining area. They are in the original structure for an authentic period atmosphere.

Service is always great but the last two times the steaks even though cooked perfectly were bland and flavorless

I was really looking forward to coming back since it had been over three years, and it did not disappoint. The meat was incredibly flavorful and perfectly juicy. The pork ribs stood out the most — tender, well-seasoned, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. You can really tell a lot of care goes into the cooking. I’ll definitely be back much sooner next time

We had the best time for my birthday right before Christmas! It was decorated so beautifully and was really a reminder of the "steakhouses" my grandparents took me to in Iowa/Nebraska. There were still jukeboxes at the booths, seats "fixed" with duct tape and the memories of a 82 year old restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food was even better. Our steak was outstanding, lots of great sides and the price was so right! We cannot wait to go back. Warning: If you are a restaurant snob, you will hate this place. That's fine because you need a reservation to get in, and us common folks pack the place, like we have for 82 years.
Actually had Coors Banquet at the bar!!We went here Thursday night with great expectations. Ordered the Ribeyes with fries, hashbrowns and gravy. Service was fantastic the restaurant was packed. The steaks were tender and the sides were cooked fine everything looked great. Only problem was there was no flavor. Will not be returning. Everyone else must have ordered off a different menu.

Great Steaks, wonderful in house dressings and drinks made with love. Absolutely recommend trying this time capsule of a restaurant, you won’t be disappointed. Servers were spot on with providing you with refills and service. Highly recommend reservations. Enjoy

We enjoyed dinner here while on a work trip. It was a recommendation from some Topeka locals. Steaks were cooked properly. All of our sides were good and portions were generous. We enjoyed the bottomless fries and gravy as an appetizer.

November 2025. There were 6 adults including me. The chicken fried steak was nothing special - bland flavor. Grandsons steak was to be med rare and it was cold, son's KC Strip was to be med well done and it was rare. Daughter said her 12 oz steak had no flavor. Steaks were inedible so they were taken home to cook more as sometimes in some restaurants sending steaks back is not a good idea at all. Complimentary fries and gravy comment is the fries are little pieces.
