Great cafe, cozy atmosphere! The breakfast was delicious! Our service was amazing! And the strawberry pie was to die for! Definitely worth the trip! We will be there again! I have both eaten at the restaurant and had to-go orders in the recent months, and every one of them have been excellent! One of my favorites is the Beer Cheese soup, so very flavorful! My favorite pie is blueberry cherry crumble, it is the only place I have seen that as a choice. Everyone is always super friendly, the food comes out quick and piping hot.

We drove from Topeka to Dover to meet two other couples from Emporia. Half of us had the country fried steak and half had the roast beef. The country fried steak was a bigger hit than the roast beef. One diner indicated it was extremely tuff. After taking our order and bringing our meals, our server never returned. We had to get her to bring rolls and additional drink refills. Not sure how many diners were “local” but some folks received much better service than we did. Two meals and two pieces of pie $40.26. Once you added tip for not so great service it makes it an expensive meal. Not sure if we will go back anytime soon. Not sure how you find out what they are serving. We went assuming they still had Friday night buffet, but they no longer have that.

Good home cooking, nothing special except pie. The Reuben was good but not much on it, the Reuben at Marie Belle's in Burlington is much better and fresher. The coconut cream pie was okay, they had lots of pies, had chocolate and strawberry rhubarb. The place was full, not enough staff, had to wait about an hour for food. Only place to eat there. Nice and homey.

The wife says she "can't quit thinking about their lemon meringue pie with blueberries in it. Their dessert options are all wonderful, but that one was a surprising sensational combination." We will have to go back.

I've been wanting to try this place for some time. Unfortunate,y I got there at like 10:45 and they close for breakfast at 10:30. Seems odd since they close at 2. Backup plan was a burger which had good flavor on a good bun, just a tad over cooked. Pies and cinnamon rolls look amazing and the service was excellent.

They charged an extra 12%, that wasn't on menu. Then you find out there is a screen that displays various messages hanging from ceiling. One of the messages that shows for about 5 seconds is we charge a 12% added inflation rate. Other messages stay up much longer and not all seats can see message screen. Why don't they just raise prices or at least stick a message on the menu you actually order from that mentions the 12%? They do have good food, would give 4 or 5 on food, but need to rethink how to add the 12%, just seems sneaky. Fine if you need to increase prices for whatever, just do it upfront on menu!
