Friendly staff, quick service and great selection of beers. Many options for fries. I got your standard plain fry. They were cooked perfectly. Where it fell short for me was the burger, too much bun and scarcely any burger. Overwhelming amount of onions, more onions than burger content and two tiny pieces of lettuce. The burger had an odd flavor. You could tell from the taste it was low quality beef. I am definitely a food snob. I've just moved back from California and it is very hard to beat the plethora of great places to eat there. If you are a thinking about opening a high quality restaurant in this town, you will not have a lot of competition!

Burger Stand has been an institution in Lawrence KS, and the location in Topeka lives up to its sister location. My favorite is the classic burger (has white cheddar, tomato, lettuce, onion) on a side salad. I never eat buns so this is the perfect situation. Truffle fries are probably my favorite- they're always crispy and cooked as they're ordered. And don't forget the dipping sauces! All kinds of flavors available!

My recent experience at the Lawrence location was disappointing. We placed an online order in advance, but their website misdirected it to the wrong location. This was not our error. The staff said they would cancel our order at the other location (without apology or empathy) and said it would take another 30 minutes for our food. Fair enough, mistakes happen. Later, we went to check on the status of our food. They failed to mention that we needed to reorder during our initial conversation. Which I’m not sure how we would do that since their website didn’t work and they had a line out the door of people trying to order. Their lack of accountability was astounding. If you value efficient service and courtesy, avoid this place. Not sure I’ve ever encountered such rude service at a restaurant. And as of now my credit card has not been refunded.

Called to place a carry out order told had to place it online. I was unable to do that and the person on the phone refused to take the carryout order. Bummer.
I wish I could put minus five stars but one is the lowest. We had to pay a 15% gratuity and they made us tip!!!! Also the gratuity doesn't go to the workers it goes to the company. I would not recommend it at all it cost 54$ For two burgers, two sides, and two fountain drinks!!! The burger tasted like it was a frozen patty and not what they claim on their menu. And they don't even bring your food to your table you have to get it!!! They also don't come to your table to take your order. So basically fast food experience for the price of a sit down fancy restaurant!!!

The burger stand has great food. The truffle fries are delicious and the cactus jam is also good. They have a huge selection of beer that’s always rotating which is nice so you can always try something new when you go in and a good drink selection as well friendly staff.

Service here was subpar, food was alright. My husband's burger was way overcooked even though he asked for medium rare, i had the fire burger which was cooked perfectly and it was yummy, the poutine fries were way too salty to enjoy, duck fat fries were good though. And for the boozy shake that was no good, tasted cheap. Maybe i have to try more items but overall experience felt underwhelming.
