I just ate the best quesadilla I have ever tasted in my life!
To put this in context, I have lived over four decades in a different community that has many outstanding Mexican restaurants; moreover, I have eaten at at incredible Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe, Taos, Albuquerque, Tucson, LA, Texas, and so many more.
A colleague and I selected this place based on Google reviews, and it did not disappoint us at all!
Edgar, our server, was outstanding! It turns out that many of the dishes are named after him and his relatives (e.g., sister, cousins, and the like). My quesadilla was called Pedro's quesadilla; it is in the second photograph, and I substituted rice for the onions.
My colleague ordered the Evelyn Platter, which is the third photograph.
The chips were fresh and the salsa was distinctly homemade. They also brought out two bottles of additional hot sauce.
That was so good that I gave it nearly a 100 percent tip!
We ordered the most expensive dishes on the menu which were around $12; however, almost everything else was less.
Be aware, this place was converted to be a restaurant to say this quaint is an overstatement; it is really small. We almost did not stay because getting a seat was seemingly impossible; however, flowed smoothly and we were able to sit immediately. So were others!
If you want a unique dining experience at a family-owned restaurant, it is doubtful you could find anything better!

I visited here the last week and they were so kind! It was only myself in there at lunch time, i couldn't believe it. They definitely deserve more traction! The quesabirria was delicious.

This place is a tiny hole in the wall with worn upholstery, but the food is amazing. They've ruined me for any other Mexican restaurant in Topeka. I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. Best I've ever had. The owner and his wife are super friendly and seem very kind and appreciative of all their customers. Go there! You won't regret it!

Best chimichanga in town. The meat was delightfully grilled and browned. No gray, bland meat here. It was the best chimi I’ve had in Topeka. Highly recommend. The family that owns it is so kind and friendly. I will be back soon.

The most authentic style Mexican food in Topeka. The enchiladas were easily in the top 10 I've ever had! Couldn't stop myself from clearing the plate, now I feel like I'm gonna explode. 9/10 just due to the building they have. They deserve a much better establishment! I will definitely be back.

This place is a true Mexican food experience. I had quesa birria tacos (made with goat!), a Friday only special. This is the only place I know in Topeka where goat birria is served and the consumé(dipping broth) is over flowing with another tacos worth of goat meat. So delicious! The tacos were chared to perfection. The 3 salsas(mild red, med green, hot orange) offered are all individually fantastic and I found my favorite to be a mix of the hot and mild.
The place is small and run by family. The gentleman keeping the place going has his hand in every aspect of the dining experience. He's polite and attentive but even as small as the place is , you can see him buzzing all over handling the restaurant. From register, food service, table service, kitchen food prep, table hospitality, and much more. Asking for a fork or silverware might get missed and I recomend searching for your own tableware (napkins, silverware).
Ive also had breakfast there, and the food was excent then too. Overall this place is an amazing a food experience , but make some time if your dining in and if you like goat, go on friday for the birria tacos.
