“There are so few food stops along US 36 west of Marysville that it’s easy to think you are driving through a food desert. This Gambino’s is no mirage! Gambino’s is a regional (5 state) pizza chain known for quick service and tasty Italian dishes (my favorite is their manicotti). For lunch this Washington location (on the north side of the highway, on west side of town) offers a salad and pizza bar M-F 11-1:30. The salad bar includes fresh lettuce, potato salad, and macaroni salad along with various toppings and dressings (including my favorite, Dorothy Lynch). It’s a busy place at lunch so the 7-8 pizzas on the bar change frequently. However the staff keeps up, bringing replacement pizzas hot from the oven. Whether you make it for the lunch buffet or order from the walk-up menu, this restaurant is definitely worth a stop!“
