Post remodel, the menu is much the same as before. Kitchen and wait staff were excellent on my visit. The open center bar area makes so much more sense, and it's much easier to find your friends.

Extremely poor service. It took over 40 minutes during a non busy time to get food. Management said it was their fault, but refused to comp anything, other than offering a free dessert.

I’ve been a few times in the past few years. This was the first time since they reopened. Week 6 soft opening to be exact (per their board haha). It was a Friday night and they were busy! Packed. We were told it’d be maybe 30-40 minutes. But several people had left their name/number and never answered so I think we only waited maybe 20 minutes.Started with their jalapeño caps. Always so good. Nice and spicy. Their tap list is HUGE now. I had the Bomb. It’s a dark amazing sout. I could drink it all the time. Nice and sweet. My husband tried one he didn’t care for and then another, I don’t remember the name but I believe it was a stout by Boulevard. And it was delicious as well. I could easily hang out at their bar to have a few beers and an app.Their menu is a lot bigger than I remember. So many options. I ordered the Mac & cheese with buffalo chicken and blue cheese. Wow! Their pasta is made fresh. It was just perfect. And such a large serving. I was able to have leftovers! My husband got their burger that’s basically a brat/sausage patty with cream cheese and roasted jalapeños. I of course had a few bites….its like a jalapeño popper burger. It was fantastic.Service was great and even though they were busy our server was attentive and fast.I can’t wait to go back! Definitely going to be on my rotation.

Update: Was there solo last night. Much better experience. Sat at the bar. The bartender was prompt, courteous, and friendly. Ordered the fish and chips sans the chips. Opted for a side salad instead. Food arrived piping hot and delicious. I wish I could remember the bartender’s name. She made the experience memorable.I was wrong to be so harsh about something which was simply a miscommunication.Schane, you do what you do out of passion. It is appreciated.Old Unfair Review:This restaurant is close to my home. I admit it was missed while being closed for renovations. My last visit there was off putting. It was for a friend’s birthday. His husband had called to alert the staff there would be a party of about twelve the next day and the time. We get it most places don’t take reservations. Seating is first come first serve. But most places take note of it. He was abruptly told they don’t take reservations but was assured the restaurant was not very busy on Saturdays. We get there and are confronted, unapologetically to a 90 minute wait and invited to go somewhere else. No apology nothing. We did leave. Not sure if I will ever come back. Not exactly the first time I have received questionable treatment there. It maybe the last.

Visited during a not-busy Tuesday afternoon, I grabbed a seat at the bar and was ignored by all of the staff. Nobody acknowledged me or offered a menu. I got tired of waiting and left.

We left after waiting 25 minutes for a server to come to our table and take our order. The food and beer selection are great, but the staff is underwhelming at best since the reopening.

Decided to come here since the renovation, did not care for how dark it was. Needs more lighting and some booths would've been nice. The service was not great our server was friendly but it would take 15 to 20 minutes to get our drinks and my dirty martini came out warm. The food was pretty good I enjoyed my Dos tacos, the meat was seasoned perfectly. However the house macaroni and cheese did not have enough cheese to noodle ratio and it was extremely bland in flavor.

Walked in and was seated right away. Sat for 10 minutes and no service. 3 individual couples came in after that and all were waited on. My wife said let's go, so we left.

You haven't seen The Anchor yet.Newly reopened and very well done. Plenty of beer and spirits to select from, I had the Wizard of Hopps, and a great gastropub menu to select from. The Anchor has been closed for renovations for about a year, and my friends and I have been frequenting their baby sister across town, Rail Hoppers. Now that I've seen the original, there's no going back. The Anchor is a great spot, excellent ambiance, cool music playing in the background, and lots to keep your eyes busy while enjoying fresh food and tasty beer on tap.The only thing that could make this experience better would be to bring back the Onion Soup Onion Rings. Honestly, it was a slip up discontinuity them. Do the right thing and bring them back, quick. It starts with crispy onion rings, then toss them with slaty marinated onions from a French onion soup (use the broth from the soup for the French Dip sandwiches that are already on the menu), then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, pop under the broiler for 30 seconds, lightly salt, and serve hot. These O-rings will be worth driving across town for, believe me. Don't delay, bring them back today!!See you there ?

I’ve been searching a few weeks for someone in Wichita who has Poutine. I noticed it was not only on The Anchor’s menu as an appetizer, but as a meal item as well. So, we stopped in for dinner Thursday evening at 6pm looking to try their Poutine. It was pretty slow; however, it took a bit to get seated. When we finally got seated, we ordered the Poutine appetizer only to be told they were out for the night. I mean, come on. Seriously? It’s the only reason we chose The Anchor for dinner. Well, as disappointing as we were, we decided to stay and give it a try. My wife ordered a beer, which took over 25 minutes to receive. She ordered a second beer during her meal and it came way after we were done eating. Everything was slow. I try to be patience these days and really empathize with businesses trying to appropriately staff themselves, but this looked to be more of a process issue than a manpower issue. I ordered the Haystack and my wife had the burger. We both agreed the food was very good. If you order the Haystack, bring your appetite as it is massive. I would say give it a try, but you might call ahead to make sure they have the menu items you are looking to order and make sure to have plenty of time.

We were SO EXCITED to go back after the remodel so we went on the coldest day in the universe. The front door wasn't unlocked so we went to the side. After being there for quite a while, our server mentioned they weren't supposed to open until noon. NO ONE acted annoyed, frustrated or flat out pissed that us and 2 other groups were there early. Our service was wonderful and everyone there seems genuinely happy to be there. The food is still spectacular and the atmosphere is kind and relaxed.
