We found this hotel on Google as we drove on I-70 and chose it for its uniqueness. We were impressed! The woodwork throughout the hotel is splendid. The furniture is arts&craft style, solid and beautiful. This place offers a welcome change from the chain hotel experience, and we slept well.

The hotel is clean and quiet, close to I-70 and the staff was very helpful. In addition the complimentary breakfast was extensive, including biscuits and gravy. We are vegan so we didn’t try this, but I was impressed by the options available. This is not the food you find at the chain hotels.

Don’t hesitate to stay here. Even the drive in and out will give you a glimpse of life in Kansas, current and past.

(Only used the restaurant)
Great restaurant, good variety of food for a small town. Well maintained, but AC struggled with heat and humidity in the dining room area.

We stayed a night at this beautiful hotel as we traveled through the area. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. We had our puppy with us, and the wonderful lady at the front desk seated us in the dining room, brought us our meal from the on site restaurant and provided our pup with a water bowl. The room was spacious, overlooking the patio, and the Nextdoor neighbor goat( kept our pup entertained). We highly recommend this hotel.

Neat old historic place with a great restaurant and outdoor space to relax. We had a delicious meal on the patio with live music and then chatting around the fire. Rooms were pretty small but it's what I'd expect for a hotel of that era. Go walk around a few blocks to see the quaint downtown.

Great rooms if all you need is a place to crash out. They’re a bit snug, but they have a ton of character and are clean and comfortable. Great location just a few miles off the highway, and some solid choices for food within 5 minutes walking distance.

The restaurant was great! Great food and cocktails, pierogis, chicken fried steak, shrimp, all so good!
They seem understaffed and stressed when busy, but worth a visit!

This review is for the restaurant The Tasting Room and not the hotel. We saw a billboard on I-70 advertising the restaurant. We decided to try it rather than wait to eat in Kansas City 3 hours away. Service was incredibly slow. I wasn’t even keeping track of time from when we walked in, but it was quite a while before our orders were even taken. We had ample opportunity to walk out before ordering and should have. It took an hour just from time ordering to getting our food which wasn’t even that great even though it looked delicious. The bread at the start of the meal was excellent. That was the only good thing. At least an hour and a half later (from first time I looked at my watch, not from the moment we walked in) we demanded the check and left. We did ask the server why the delays and all she could say is that they were busy. This little restaurant has less than ten tables. A couple next to us waited just as long as we did and they ordered burgers. It’s not even about the money, It’s about the time wasted. Very disappointing.

Old hotel with vintage accommodations. Fun for one night, but small rooms and beds. Low shower water pressure. Limited
