“This place is great. You order at the counter, incredibly friendly staff, food comes out super fast and was delicious. They were incredibly helpful in all our requests to package up our to go food.

Veggies tacos, arroz con pollo, and chips and queso (ofc) are amazing. They also have daily specials & the jumbo margs aren't too sweet.“

“Went to Desperados Cantina for the first time tonight in Distillery District. I was always skeptical about going there to eat because everytime I’m in distillery district this place is a ghost town. People walk right by and don’t even blink an eye at it. My birria tacos, PHENOMENAL. Chorizo queso, PHENOMENAL. The churro, warm, crispy, to die for. I don’t know how this place isn’t buzzing!!!!!“

“Very family oriented! My coworker and I stopped here during a job fair from the Tyson closure and as soon as we arrived we were greeted like knew the owner for years. The food was amazing. My only complaint was the horchata was too thick but still very tasty. We lost track of time about 2 hrs in. It was a great environment!“

“May try it out again but it was mediocre. The service and quickness was great. Husband got steak and chicken street tacos, BLAND. No flavor especially the shredded chicken. Bean soup was good. I got steak fajitas which steak was pretty good so my dish had flavor. Guac was great too. What was VERY disappointing was I got DENIED by my request of corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas with my meal. NEVER have I been to a Mexican restaurant and been (literally) told NO. Server was great but To make the experience REALLY AWKWARD was the fact that instead of getting your bill your server stands there waiting for you to pay them and if paying in cash they’ll stand there and NOT give you your change back. I was waiting for my change (so I could manage out her tip) and she just stood there so I got out more cash for her tip then decides to walk away. Very uncomfortable so you may want to change your checking out routine.“

“I asked for a recommendation for a seafood dish and chose what was recommended, and while it was tasty, it was much too difficult to eat. I got a seafood soup. Much of the seafood came in shells. I was given no utensils other than a soup spoon. With oysters no problem. With shrimp, a bit messy, but do-able. With crayfish okay but more difficult. With a crab leg and claw, impossible without tools. The soup was tasty, but I had to take it home to actually enjoy bit.

We were a big party and the staff was attentive and helpful.“

This place is just so amazing mexican food around US seems to be trying to fit in mixing local flavors to fit in. This place in what mexican food is supposed to be flavors the salsas the hand made tortillas. Im from chicago our culture there if your mediocre you wouldn't survive and places out of chicago are just trying to call themselves mexican and there not. If you guys want to taste real mexican food this is it. I had to come eat 2 times and I may stop by tomorrow before going back home just because is amazing.“

“Fernando’s has become my greatest obsession😭 I think about their Chorizo street tacos constantly! I love the mangonada and the Mexican fruit cup. The street corn cup is also amazing! The serving size makes the price worth it!

I was craving them this Tuesday only to find out they’re closed on Tuesdays (completely understandable)! I went to another place for some Chorizo street tacos. I was unimpressed and feel that I’ve been spoiled by Fernando’s serving size and quality.

One night I was craving it so bad that I went right before our most recent ice storm. They took my order and brought it to the car for me. My partner and I were very grateful for that service!

Anyways, I am a big fan and will be back whenever the craving hits and my bank account allows!“

“I haven't had the opportunity to eat there yet. But the smell enamorating outside of that business is mouth-watering. There's customers going in and out no matter what time of the week it is. They have a couple of picnic tables right next to the establishment. It's never an empty seat most of the time real talk. Latin food is big business in this area and competition is stiff. To have consistent traffic has to have something to do with the quality of the food. The employees and owners were very nice and welcoming to a Google Maps photographer like myself so thanks. I am rewarding them with a 5 star review not only based off the kindness of how they treated me, but also the aroma, AND the consistent traffic that they create. I recommend!!!“

“Very good authentic Mexican. The food is different than the traditional Mexican restaurant but great in it's own way. Best bang for your buck is the lunch and dinner buffet. This time we came in before the buffet and got our food within 10 mins. Some of it packs some heat so be sure to ask if it is spicy. Friendly staff and the owner is the sweetest. Try the in house horchata and michelada they are the best.“

“My dad and i went to get a nacho kit. As soon as we walked in, there was no kind of greeting so I initiated one. Then comes the order. It's like no one knew what we were talking about. After a few minutes they figured it out. A young man that seemed to be the manager on shift had a horrible attitude, not personable and is just not where he needs to be serving people if that is how his attitude is. We got extra meat. He was sure to tell us it would be extra which is common sense. We knew it would be. He was sure to ask the sweet girl at the register if we paid for the extra. We all 3 said yes and he tore the receipt off the machine and checked it twice. I understand some people are like that to not pay for what they order, but to be treated that way after spending what we did there was absolutely ridiculous. I was embarrassed to even be there. The food was good, we enjoyed it. So for that I'll give 5 stars. Shame on the young man for being so rude. You need a new job.“
