Still my favorite chili and it’s not even close. Place could use a little refresher, but the service and food is great every time.

Empress chili is where it all started. You have Empress to thank for Cincinnati chili. Had to go to the last remaining one open. Coneys were my favorite menu item. Glad to see chili pizza on the menu and interesting takes on classics like chili and spaghetti coneys. They also had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and a variety of sandwiches. The building itself was very large inside and very clean. I was surprised how nice it was. Awesome restaurant, definitely check it out and pay your respects to a chili legend.

We really like coming back here time and time again bc the chili tastes better than Skyline or Goldstar, but we always order spaghonys, which are coneys with spaghetti in them instead of the hotdog. Except 3 out of 4 times, we got the hotdogs instead of the spaghetti and had to send them back. The most recent visit it didn't taste the same, and we realized it lacked enough chili on them. We'll give it another try and decide if it's worth the drive from Cincinnati anymore.

Last of the original. All Cincinnati Chili traces its roots to Empress- no matter what anyone says, thinks or feels- This chili is the one that started it all.

Went to empress in Alexandria Ky ordered a 3 way while I was waiting on my food I was sitting against the back wall and I saw one of the young man who worked there eating the shredded cheese holding over top of the whole entire cheese with his bare hands letting it fall out of his mouth back into the cheese he did it at least 3 or 4 times I won’t eat there again
Great service and great Chili. Highly recommended you will not be let down.

Great cheese coneys
The first Cincinnati chili has become become the best Cincinnati chili again! Generous portions of great texture with actual spice flavor instead of grease puts Empress back on top for me!
Visited during Cincinnati Chili week. Had and enjoyed the specials. Friendly service. Menu seems pretty standard with a few added item twists.
Order at the counter and they will bring your food out.
We've been sitting here for 45 minutes. Waiting on Ashley to come up ask them where food was and they're responsible. What did you order. Apparently they lost our order. Never had service like this here before. This is just terrible.
I really like this place. Had a chili cheese pizza and a chef salad. There is a big sign that asks you to check your food before you leave the parking lot and they will quickly fix it.
This is where there is a small problem that has always been there... They tie your bag shut tightly. So in order to check your food you need to tear the bag apart...
So here I am in the parking lot, correct food verified, but a bag that is useless. Both waste of new landfill and useless to the customer.
My suggestion is simple... Just please don't tie the bag.
Keep up the great work on the food. Just please improve upon this process gap.
