We don't have a local Captain D's. So nearly every time we go to Ashland KY, we get some delicious Food at Captain D's! It always looks clean, and the employees are always nice and friendly. Plus they have some yummy fish! 😋 I don't eat other types of seafood, but my boyfriend loves their seafood platter!! Their prices are very reasonable too, about the same as Long John Silver's. BUT I must say, it really is so much better tasting than Long John Silver's!! Their mac & cheese is very good, cheesy, and creamy! I also love their coleslaw and hush puppies!

Great food but not worth the wait. Was in drive thru for 5 minutes didn't move a inch so left went to LJS. Cap Ds need more help or better system cuz they are slow

We went thru the drive thru only to be told they have 3 different kinds of fish so made the decision to go in. Mistake, the workers were in the bathroom and another one was standing in the front with someone talking about rotten stuff under their seat. I was wondering why the police was in the area now i know. Bad area, will never go back. They were nice to us tho, just had to wait forever on our food!

My wife have eaten at this location for over 25 years. The staff since 2024/2025 has been the best. We typically eat on Sunday and the girl that runs the front line is the best.

6/1/25 the worst service I’ve ever seen. Just tried going through the drive through. Interrupted multiple times while trying to order the order was wrong. Wife goes inside to get it corrected. The 3 girls inside was busy on their phone finally got the food the fish was literally cold inside and out. Trashed it all. Disgusted.
Ordered the supreme sampler and the seafood sampler and the fish and the crab cakes were not done. The baked potatoes were bland. Worse experience there. The girl was to distracted talking to the others.

The food is good and all but I can't believe the prices anymore and you don't even get a drink with the meal. Its the same price to go to Golden Corral. My other complaint is that the fish is so small now that its like fish fingers. It's really unacceptable to be honest. There was no fish to it. I remember Captains Ds having nice size fish. That's just not the case anymore. If you are gonna serve fish that small you need to give more pieces to equal what someone is paying for the meal bc the menu shows bigger fish pieces 😠😡

Captain D’s was founded in 1969 in Donaldson Tnn, its original served seafood and Hamburgers until 1974. I have always been a fan of its competitor Long John Silvers. If given the choice I usually choose Captain D’s because you can tell the fish from the chicken, and for me you have to have both when dining here. The prices are reasonable. Service was friendly, the atmosphere could use some update.
