“I finally tried Sam’s Hot Dog Stand for the first time, and I can’t believe I waited this long to check out such a regional staple. (Fun fact: Sam’s originally started just next door in Huntington.) I kept it simple with spicy sauce, mustard, and cheese. That spicy sauce really surprised me! It’s got a legit kick and a lot of flavor, not just heat. I also tried the bratwurst with kraut, spicy sauce, and jalapeños. The brat was juicy and the toppings worked really well together. The value stood out, too: 8 dogs total, including the brat, for $19. Everyone is full and happy. I was surprised to hear some people thought Sam’s was closed or didn’t know it was there. That’s a shame, because the service was fast and genuinely friendly, and this place deserves to be in regular rotation. They’re also on DoorDash. 📍 3510 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, KY“
