They really do an excellent job setting the atmosphere for a nice dinner. The decor and the music are pleasant and inviting. The staff is friendly and they do an excellent job pacing the meal. The menu is large with so many delicious options. The soups are simple broth based soups and served hot. The salads are fresh. You never feel rushed and each course came out just as we were finishing the previous. The food was fresh and delicious. The sushi was amazing. Portions were plentiful. We felt welcomed and appreciated. They did an excellent job making sure we felt satisfied with our dinner. It was just nice to feel like a guest in a restaurant and not a customer, if you know what I mean. There was no hype or gimmick, just a nice dinner, in a nice place, served by nice people. I would definitely recommend Shogun and I will definitely go again.

Checked on frequently but not too often.The food was exquisite and the portions were huge.I used to eat at the shogun in Barboursville, WV and was very said when it shut down. I believe this one I ran by the same people.Super excited to have found this Gem.

Normally I'll get a to-go lunch from here because the lunch bento is such a good deal, but we went out for dinner tonight and dined in. The restaurant seemed a bit shorthanded with only one server taking care of most of the tables, but she was a rockstar — friendly and attentive to EVERYONE. Food was hot, tasted good, and served timely. We really appreciated that, but the service was just next-level good.
We stopped in to grab take out food. When the server saw us struggling on a decision, she kindly let us know exactly how everything was served. She was a great help. The food was delicious and the portions are very large. Definitely, 5 stars across the board!Vegetarian options: Each meal was served with rice and vegetables. Also, the meat is separated in the take out container. Therefore, veggie options would be available. Salad, soup, and rolls are also included.Kid-friendliness: This restaurant offers child-size portions.Parking: There is plenty of parking available in the plaza where it is located. I have never been to this plaza when there was not ample parking available.Wheelchair accessibility: The sidewalk has ramp access.

I live out of town but everytime I’m up here to visit family, we go here. Been going for around 4 years now, and it’s amazing everytime! Best sushi I’ve ever had! They’re always so nice and we love eating in. Highly recommend the soups as well as the flower roll, to die for ❤️
