The wait time was ridiculous and the food was burnt, wasn't any good. $35 down the drain. We will not be back.

As a fan of Sonic and eating at them around the country as I travel the Ashland Sonic has to be by far the worst location I’ve ever been to. Absolutely horrible food and equally horrible service.

Two years later we decided to give it another go. Omg! My husband sat in the drivethru at the kiosk for 13 minutes before being greeted. Then he sat at the window for another almost 15 mins! One car in a stall and 2 behind them! Sonic of Ashland Ky, please, please do better! We love your food (when made properly and not slopped together) no excuse for tonight at 6:30 pm 11/24/2025 Monday, as there were only one car at a booth and no one ahead of my husband during his order. While he was waiting at the window for our food, 2 other patrons ended up behind him. When he left there were no other customers except for the one car in the booth and the two behind him! I would just like to know what is going on? Do you not have enough employees?
I was SO excited about getting a Sonic in Ashland! In the past, we had to drive to Portsmouth or Moorehead. Being that we live in Ashland, that was awesome news! Until we ate there a couple of weeks after they opened. For them to have just opened, it was pretty good. I think after all of the training management went back to their home stores, leaving the newbies on their own is when it began to go down! I haven't spoken to not one person that has eaten there in the last year that was not disappointed. That is sad! Our second visit there they skipped out on one thing of fries that went with one of the combos we purchase. So before we pulled away from the window, we checked our bags. We sat and wait for the window cashier to come back and let her know we were missed 1 thing of fries. She closed the window and spoke to a man standing next to her. He opened the window and practically accused me of lying. If I was gonna lie about missed food, sure the hell wouldn't be over a bucks worth of fries. He reluctantly gave us our due and we went about our way. We visited again 2 other times after that incident. Each time the food was messed up and cold. We decided after not eating there for over 6 months, maybe longer to give them another chance. When properly made and hot, it is our favorite burger joint! So 2 days ago we gave them a chance. We arrive with only 2 other cars at the booths and one car in the drive thru. So we decided to order at a booth so that we can check our bags properly without holding up the drive thru line. When we pushed the red order button it lit up and prompted that someone would be with us momentarily. After around 2 mins of silence the prompt disappeared. So we pushed the button again and about 20 seconds later someone let's us know they will be right with us. So 9, yes NINE minute later he finally comes back on the speaker and takes our order. I look around and the same two other cars are still the only ones at the booths besides us and this time no additional cars in the drive thru. So I am asking my husband why the long wait? They are not busy whatsoever! Around 10 minutes later they bring our 2 bags of food
One bag had all 3 fries and the other all 3 double bacon cheese burgers
As soon as the car hop hands My husband the food he hands it off to me bc he is driving. I immediately reach for a French fry, don't lie, we ALL do it haha, and nothing about the fries nor the burgers were the least bit warm, let alone hot! At this point we have already decided to boycott this location so no need in complaining right then. We get home a short ride later and had to microwave each meal. My husband, so excited about that burger he was about to smash, takes the top bun off only to see ONE half inch burnt piece of bacon. Oh he was furious! $32 and some change for 3 reg combos with no add ons or anything else besides the burgers, fries and drinks. Paying right at $10 a burger combo is not cheap. So you at least expect it to be worth it or the very least somewhat warm when being handed off. Nope! That really sucks bc like I said, Sonic is our go-to burger spot. Guess we will drive further as we have pre Ashland Sonic days
So for us, it's like we still don't have one close by.

VERY slow restaurant, waited 30 minutes and expected it to be correct so i parked to eat down the street, i check it and its wrong, completely missing an item as well, should not happen when there was 1 car infront of me and none in the parking lot. I ordered a single meal and cars behind me were getting their larger orders first who even came after me, spent a total of 1 hour in the sonic line.

I placed my order through the app and requested no cheese on one of the two burgers I ordered. When I picked it up, the bag was stapled shut (which already seemed unnecessary), and since I was in a hurry, I didn’t open it to double-check the order.
When I got home, I saw that the order ticket on the burger clearly said no cheese, yet it was covered in cheese. I called the restaurant to see how they could fix the mistake, but the young woman who answered was rude and didn’t apologize. She told me I could either bring the incorrect burger back for a replacement or have my name taken down for a future replacement.
I explained that this was my dinner and I wanted it corrected now. Unfortunately, by the time I returned and got the replacement, the rest of my food was cold. Overall, it was a frustrating experience—poor attention to detail and even worse customer service. I won’t be returning. It’s disappointing how hard it’s become to find decent service at fast food places these days.
Update: Sonic has offered me a free cheeseburger for my trouble.

I really wish that I could give less than 1 star. I placed an order, sat there for over 30 minutes - no one ever checked on us or apologized for the wait... during this time, several sketchy looking individuals (not in uniform) were in and out the building and hanging out on the far end of the lot by someone's personal vehicle... after pressing the button on the stall again, someone finally came out and asked what our order was..... this is unacceptable and pathetic... we left without our order... the suspicious behavior, paired with the flickering lights in the store, and the complete lack of service, really feels like there are bigger issues. Again, pathetic!

Just ordered two corn d9gs through the drive-thru along with other items for the family. The corn dogs had raw batter inside! Pictures included. Inedible and dangerous.

Amazing double smash burger(without sauce) and custom slushies. Its a car hop... you should expect a wait time, foods totally worth it. I wouldn't classify this as a fast food place, so much as a sit and eat place.
Wanted to add Samantha was awesome, she helped me navigate the screen for payment, with paitence, since I couldnt seem to flip it the right way.

This Truly does have to be the worst fast food place in Ashland, Kentucky. The service is extremely slow, the employees have no enthusiasm at all to serve you, and the food (what you get of your order) is thrown together like a bunch if five year olds did it. It’s bad enough that working class people have to deal with the increased cost if “Everything “ but damn fix your restaurant or close it down!
