Tommy's Root beer Stand is classic Americana with a sprinkle of southern Kentucky charm! This is an old school drive in with the full works. There are two rows of spots to park in, multiple lit menu boards, and a main kitchen with staff in-between the rows. The menu, food, and atmosphere are all tailored to the drive in experience. You can get anything from a drive in classic, like a burger, all the way to southern specialties like a fried bologna sandwich here.
We arrived right after opening on a Saturday and were greeted right away. We placed an order for two entrees, chili cheese fries, and two drinks and paid $16. That's a steal compared to fast food in 2025! Our food came out within ten minutes and was delicious, hot, and fresh. Our waitress did a great job of providing napkins, ketchup, and salt in our bags for convenience.

Something has happened from last fall to this fall. I ate there alot the food was always hot and fresh. Ive been 5 times this month 2 times my chili buns were great. 1 time the chili was cold cold. 1 time the chili was just barely warm couldn't eat them all. Then last night same problem chili wasn't hot at all. So whoever is cooking i don't know what's changed but something is definitely off compared to last year.

If they get busy they get flustered it takes a long time to get your food and mine came before my husband's my burger was already cold I was done eating before he even got his personal pan

DEE-lish food, fair pricing, good service. PSA: ALWAYS have them repeat your order back to you. 6 out of the last 10 visits, our order was incorrect, and we didn't catch it until we got home.
Never been to the stand. Review is being referred to the pizza place. Burger made me vomit. Pizza was subpar. Cheese sticks really good a bit greasy, however great flavor. Marinara sauce was super bitter. All the drinks were overly sweet and bitter taste. The ranch packets they use, are the nastiest thing or adjacent to such. Super friendly and clean. Bathrooms well kept up too. I will say the milkshakes are some of the best, I have ever had.

I just got a sweet tea And the waitress was more then helpful pretty nice and made sure that I was happy with my order and she was very nice looking and that made my visit great next time I visit I plan to try the food anyone have any suggestions about what is good there besides the service I'm waiting to hear from you

Cute lil drive-in dinner. Met quickly by the sweet waitress. Ordered BLT, was delicious but a tad bit small for my liken. Should have gotten two. Cheesy fries, fries covered in nacho cheese, was either super delicious or we were hungry than we thought. Would def go back if we have the time.
