Really good food, service a bit on the slow side but not terrible, the lighting is a bit weird but the amazing smell makes up for it.

So originally my date and I were going to go a place in Etown but the bbq place moved location or closed. He had been wanting BBQ so looking online we picked this place over driving to Louisville. But we were so glad we did! We each got the Brisket Sandwich with 2 sides. He got beans and potato salad, noting the potato salad tasted like what his mom makes homemade. I got fries and slaw. The fries were seasoned just right! The spicy bbq sauce was great. Portions were beyond expected and the way the food is placed on a tray lined with paper was cool. Service was really good. The only bad thing was the table was a bit sticky but I had sanitizerto clean the spot. Would definitely eat here again!

I live in Middletown Ohio, and every time I come to visit Bardstown this is a must! They have the best Brisket bites and chicken wings I've ever had! The potato salad is on point. Great Service and the atmosphere is perfect for dinner with the family!

Not a fan of their BBQ. We need a better BBQ place here in Bardstown.

The waitress to start was not friendly at all, the pulled pork I got probably would have been delicious had I received enough sauce to cover the meat completely!!! My loaded baked potato was not fully cooked and had quite a bit of hard uneatable potato. The chicken fried fish was very poorly put together a lot of the outside was hard. My 6 yr old grandson touched his macaroni and asked where is the cheese. Definitely 2 out of 10!!

We had this barbecue place cater our wedding and were really looking forward to the food. We were charged $980 for 50 people at a rate of $16.99 per person. While the food itself was good, the amount we received did not match what we were expecting for that price and number of guests.

We were given:

A small tray of brisket
A larger tray of pulled chicken
Buns
Two trays of mac and cheese
Two trays of baked beans.
Barbecue sauce

This was not enough to serve 50 people, and we ran out of food sooner than expected. I don’t understand how the portions were calculated, and im still hoping for some clarification. There’s no way this was $900 worth of food.

I wanted to share this so others are aware and can ask detailed questions ahead of time. Again, the food was good — we just expected more given the price and headcount.

Went here yesterday for the first time on a recommendation, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, nothing fancy, but large and can accommodate many people. The service was pretty good. The food was quite excellent, but it was a bit cold. I really like the sides they were excellent, especially the macaroni and cheese.
Recommendations to the owner, make sure that waitresses dry off the table after wiping it down with a rag, nobody wants to sit at a wet table.

Picked up lunch from Family BBQ in Bardstown for the office today, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! Every item was on point—delicious, flavorful, and packed with such care that it made serving a breeze. The customer service truly stood out. The lady at the counter, who I believe was either the manager or the owner, was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She even had most of my order memorized without needing to look at my list—talk about efficiency and attention to detail! On a separate occasion, I asked for a lean cut of brisket, and they delivered perfection. The meat was both lean and incredibly juicy—absolutely beautiful and delicious. You can tell they put pride into every detail, from preparation to presentation. It’s rare to find a place where the food and service are equally amazing, but Family BBQ nails it every time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and an exceptional experience. Will definitely be back!

I picked up so I can’t rate the service. The young lady at the counter was sweet.
The place was very clean.
The brisket was some of the best I have ever had. I wish I had ordered a pound.
The ribs fall off the bone and were great.
The cole slaw was good and refreshing. The Mac and cheese was creamy and rich. I did not love the potato salad. But I am really picky about that. I ate it my husband enjoyed it. I wish we had tried them sooner.
I really want a pound of brisket now!! So good !
