Did not stay in a room, ate here twice. The burgoo is amazing! The cocktails are fantastic! The atmosphere is historically wonderful!

Showed up to eat. When they asked us how many people we had and we told them they changed their mind and said they weren't taking anymore walk ins and close at 8 anyway. It was 6:45.

Declined service after they found out our party size. If you have more then 4 people do not go to this place. Horrible service

We ate at the Old Talbot Tavern restaurant on a Sunday night in June. The customers were a mix of tourists and locals. We had burgers which were very good and cocktails. Both were good, but not change your life good. Drinks were small but appropriately priced. We would go back but maybe not my first choice.

Stopped in for lunch while touring the bourbon trail. Very few parking spots in front but there was street parking available. Just be prepared to walk a block or two. We were promptly seated. Waiter came over to take our order rather quickly, which was fine, we were starving. Ordered an Old Fashioned and iced tea. Old Fashioned was one of the smallest I've ever had, being in the heart of bourbon country I definitely expected a true OF not a splash of bourbon over ice.. It tasted and appeared as if they threw an ounce of bourbon in a glass with one small ice cube which is not and OF. Luckily I chose a bourbon that I know I like so I made it work. Waiter never brought sweetener for the tea, after asking multipled times, so all of the ice melted before one drink was taken. Ordered a bourbon bbq pork sandwich and that was definitely a plus. We really wanted a dessert but our waiter couldn't even bring sweetner let alone we try to order a dessert. So we packed up and moved on to our next stop on The Trail. A little disappointed in the drink situation and how much we paid for a splash of bourbon and unsweetened tea. Luckily the food was good. It was around 1245 and only a few tables so we are not sure why we had such disappointing service. We may try again when we are back in the area since the food was good. Will just know not to spend so much for a splash of bourbon. Had it been a top knotch bourbon, price would not have been an issue.

Great old establishment with plenty of history. Good food and great southern service.

Great location, great history. It's worth the visit for that. Food is mid. Steak was (under) done before the salad. Sit in the bar or pub room.

So beautiful and full of history. And the food was beyond what I expected. When we go visit again we are going back. I want to stay in the rooms above the restaurant. Or in the jailhouse inn next door. Or both shoot.

The building is very interesting. We ate at the restaurant. My wife had the salmon and loved it. I had the bourbon walnut chicken with a baked potato. It was basically fried chicken covered in maple syrup (or chicken and waffles without the waffles). My baked potato was cold and gray...too cold to melt sour cream. I wouldn't recommend it.
