We spent three days in Louisville/Bardstown and The Bar at Willet was the best place of the whole trip. This is in no small part to our excellent bartender Luciano. We split a few different items on the menu but definitely get the egg salad sandwich. They have a few different fancy food items but they are all approachable and tasty. On top of the great bourbon flight recommendations, Luciano was incredibly knowledgeable in regards to spirits in general, and made what our group agreed was the best Manhattan any of us has ever had.
Definitely book ahead - they were turning people away at the door.

The Ceasars salad had no dressing and very minimal cheese. Just large romaine leaves, not cut up, and insignificant thin crust croutons. Don't waste your time/money on this pitiful sslad. We ordered two risotta plates, but only got one. It was delicious, but tiny. And when asked about the second order, they said you'll have to talk to your server. We had already waited 30 minutes for the one, so we told them don't worry about it. The server came over and said, "so you don't want your other order?" I asked, "Are they in the middle of making it?" He said "no". We absolutely would have liked our second order but not if we have to wait 30 minutes for it. He said ok. Not "I'm sorry". Just "ok". My husband's coffee never came. And, they brought our pregnant friend (7 months, big bellly) an alcoholic drink when she clearly ordered a mocktail, no alcohol. I would not recommend dining here. Take the tour and then go eat elsewhere.

Just wow! We already have a crush on Willet for their distillery products and such beautiful grounds, but The Bar gave us a whole new appreciation for them!
We had two seats at the bar, and the bartending staff, servers, and chefs were all phenomenal. The food menu changes each day and is served tapas style. As we sat down, we were told there were only 3 burgers left for the day so if you want one order it now. My husband ordered up and did not regret it. A double patty smash burger, oozing with juiciness, perfectly cooked and melty cheese and toppings. He also got a side of the carrots which came with a sour cherry sunflower seed mix. Fabulous! We also shared an order of panisse which is best described as fried hummus fries that come with a ricotta and red pepper dips. Absolutely amazing.
I opted for the watermelon molasses ham, which was a Smokey version of prosciutto with the watermelon molasses drizzle. A great balance of sweet and salty. I also got the grilled oysters which were phenomenal. They were grilled with a spicy sausage tomato broth and topped with cheese, served with garlic herb saltines. So tender and packed with flavor. We ended our food journey with a slice of strawberry basque cheesecake…a creamy dream of deliciousness.
We primarily stuck to cocktails off their bar menu although they offer the full Willet portfolio, including purple tops, but they are not shy to let you know they are a full bar so you can order anything you like. We especially enjoyed trying their Winners and Losers cocktail which included our recently discovered Amaro favorite, See the Elephant. It was fantastic. Not a single detail was overlooked as they even liquid nitrogen rinse the glassware to serve chilled.

I have to talk about the chicken wings, the cheese selection (although simple) but especially LUCIANO at the bar. It was the best thing about the place, it made us feel like we were retracing the history of the place… thanks to it we bought 3 more bottles. Excellent place, food and service!

Burger was one of the best I’ve ever had. Juicy. Flavorful.
The bourbon is one of each on the menu. The cocktail is the Bicycle thief (10/10).

We had made reservations and let them know ahead of a dietary restriction. When we arrived the menu had been marked to reflect how each item was either GF, could be modified or not GF. The waiter clearly understood the difference between celiac and intolerance and was very attentive. On top of the amazing service, was the even more amazing food. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Additionally, the presentation was beautiful and we were seated where we could watch the plating of many dishes. Overall this was one of the best experiences in Bardstown!

THE EGG SALAD SANDWICH IS DISGUSTING. I was excited to try the burger here but unfortunately it is only available one day of the week, which I was totally fine with, I ordered the egg salad sandwich instead and also the charcuterie board, creamed corn.
The egg salad sandwich was so gross I don’t even know if I can put it into words on how bland and weird it was, the egg salad was cold but the bread was warm, it didn’t taste like eggs at all, all I could taste was grainy gross mayo and dry bread. I have traveled all over and tried many foods at every level, i really expected more from this place after reading the reviews. I strongly believe the people who rated this place 5 stars have screwed up taste buds from the high proof bourbon they drink because their food is disgusting, pretentiously priced and overhyped.
The corn was good, but the charcuterie board cheeses were very bitter and I couldn’t figure out how they they went together with the other items on the board, the crackers were flavorless and the sauces were not very good either. It was 24 bucks and it was VERY small as in like 5 small pieces of cheese and maybe a spoonful of each sauce. Very bizarre. Service was great. Their 11 year old bourbon pick was very hot, that really didn’t make sense.

This place is the best stop on the bourbon trail. The cocktail service is fantastic and wonderful. And the food is outstanding. Get there early to order the cheeseburger... Only 23 made and they go fast! It's worth it. The egg salad sandwich....holy smokes this sandwich is incredible. The chicken wings are delicious. And the oyster slider is wonderful. A must stop!

The food was so delicious we had to go back a second day. Jason in the Coffee Shop recommended the egg salad sandwich, wings, and oyster slider. His recommendations were not wrong. I had to try the watermelon as well which was life changing. McKenna and Mason took great care of us, as did Ila in the bar after the tour. McKenna walked us through the menu and was super fun and personable. When my husband could not find his phone, Mason retraced the tour path to see if my husband might have set it down along the way. The phone was in the car but Mason left no stone unturned trying to find the phone. Highly recommend the Bar at Willett. I am looking forward to our next trip to Kentucky so we can go back to The Bar at Willett. McKenna made us feel so welcome I want to move to Kentucky.

The food is good, specifically the chicken wings and egg salad sandwich. However, if you are hungry, you better order 2 “entrees” as their plates are all shareable. The menu has limited amount of options. I wish they would offer more sandwich options.
