Service and atmosphere is top notch for sure. The food however was not as top shelf as the prices would indicate. Its not that it was bad, the value just wasn't there for me. I've had better flavor for less cost.
I can accept of they just had a bad day of course, amd maybe that was the case on our visit. The spinach and artichoke dip special app they had was absolutely worth it. Would definitely like to try this place again.

Allie, our server, was so kind and attentive. The food was taking longer than expected, but it was worth the wait. We had a phenomenal meal, and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Allie!

Cancelled a reservation that was made months in advance. Truly unprofessional and unacceptable

We secured Valentine’s Day reservations at The Rickhouse back in November—months in advance—specifically to avoid the predictable chaos of a holiday rush. It is beyond infuriating that our diligence was rewarded with a level of logistical incompetence that I find difficult to fully articulate. Without a shred of communication, management took it upon themselves to arbitrarily merge our group’s reservations and summarily cancel half of them. There was no phone call, no email, and zero effort to rectify the blunder. Several couples only discovered they were "table-less" because they had the foresight to check; had they not, they would have arrived only to be turned away at the door. By the time this negligence came to light, we were forced to scramble for alternatives on the single busiest night of the year. This didn't just "complicate" our evening—it entirely sabotaged it. The irony of your marketing, which urges guests to “book early,” is not lost on us. Booking early with The Rickhouse is clearly a meaningless gesture if your staff feels entitled to discard confirmed reservations at their whim. This was a staggering display of disrespect for your patrons’ time and special occasions. If you cannot manage a basic reservation system, you have no business being in the hospitality industry. We will certainly not be trusting this establishment with any future plans, and I will be ensuring our network is aware of this utter failure in service.

First time dining here in several years. Upon entering we were greeted by 3 hostesses who appeared to be very frustrated by the new seating software they were using and left us standing on wait for a table for an extended period of time. Interestingly the restaurant was mostly vacant at the time we arrived and many tables were available! Once seated we were greeted and given a menu. The lighting was extremely dark which made the menu almost impossible to read. Our server apologized stating she knew it was an issue for many diners. We ordered wine, Ceasar salad, filet medium rare, mushrooms, three cheese ravioli. Wine and salads were good, filet was less than tender, mushrooms were bourbon soaked, rubbery & non edible. Three cheese ravioli was covered in a heavy, bland tomato sauce and appeared to have been previously frozen. We chose not to have dessert. All in all not a great experience. There are many other better dining establishments in Bardstown and we left wishing we had chosen one. 😉

We have ate at the Rickhouse several times and it has always been great. We usually get steak, the Ribeye is wonderful. The scalloped potatoes and Brussel sprouts are my favorite sides. The grilled caesar salad is unique and yummy if you can fit it in.

The absolute best spinach artichoke dip I’ve ever had. Honestly the whole meal was excellent. The date was the part of the night though. ❤️

Tobie was our waiter & she was amazing. Classy, friendly & knowledgeable. She was quite professional with style & was quite savy. Our meal was top notch. We had New York Strip steaks, asparagus, bourbon mushrooms & baked potato. The steak was nice thickness almost fork tender & flavor of perfectly grilled as was the potato. It had the perfect char. Not over cooked or under cooked. The skin has to be the right texture for the perfect cook, well enough to eat the entire potato. When its cooked like this its perfection & this one was! Also the Asparagus, it too was perfectly cooked & flavored. I also had lobster tail with a lemony cream glaze. It too was a perfect cook. In my opinion it was the finest cuisine. It was my birthday so they brought out a delicious deep dark chocolate tort with bourbon glaze & whipped cream atop. What perfection 👌 to top off the perfect meal. Bravo! Well ✔️ done

We came for my birthday not knowing what to expect. The server was sweet and honest. She and the kitchen weren't sure what was gluten-free but we managed to find something. My steak was just OK. It came out warm since it needed to sit while they remade my wife's dish. The green beans were average. Could have been an off night for the kitchen.
