Went to The Rickhouae for dinner. First off the signage to find the entrance was scarce and it took us about 3-4 minutes of walking around the building to locate the entrance. There were four of us and we were sat at a table more suitable for 2. The waitress was very polite and did a good job making sure our drinks weren’t empty and our food arrived promptly. Our table ordered the steak, chicken pasta, and the BBQ chicken dish. The steak was okay but nothing worth raving about. The BBQ chicken was good but again nothing amazing. We did like the 11 cheese Mac n cheese and although the mushrooms were cooked well, I thought they were fairly bland. The bread pudding was probably the best thing we ate. I felt everything was overpriced and the only thing I felt we were paying for was the atmosphere. I doubt we will be returning when there are far better places to eat in the area.

Tonight will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.Pros: There was one bartender handling drink orders, and he was working his butt off, i thought he was excellent.Second, the Caesar salad was fantastic. They gently charred the Romain lettuce and that took this salad to a new level that i will attempt to replicate moving forward.Third, the restaurant was packed with a one hour wait for people without reservations, meaning most people will think the food is good and maybe even great.Cons: The table next to us had 6 guys in their mid-30s drunker than drunk. Shouting obscenities, crying (sobbing drunk speeches), staggering and stumbling all over the place and disturbing the three other tables seated next to them. Then, for some ridiculously irresponsible reason, the staff kept on bringing them more rounds of shots.Next, there was no good way to sit at this table. Our table top was sitting on a full sized bourbon barrel, please pump the breaks on the bourbon decor, everybody knows why we are in Bardstown, losing functionality over one more bourbon barrel decoration is not the way to go.In summation, most tourist will enjoy this Italian steakhouse in bourbon country. We had a bad experience. I will pay 40 dollars for a mediocre steak to avoid loud mouthed drunk idiots, but we didn't get that here. If you have higher expectations, you can do better.

Server did not convey specials (would have chosen different entree). PRIME Sirloin mid-rare was not tender. Another in our group ordered strip steak medium, came out mid-rare. Green beans lacked flavor (not sure how since there was bacon involved). The burger another in our group ordered was excellent. Cattleman's Steakhouse blows this restaurant away in quality of food and price.

When visiting the Oscar Getz Museum couldn't get any better, just wait until you enjoy The Rickhouse.Tucked on the left side of Spaulding House through the metal gates is a door for The Rickhouse. Duck your head a bit if you are 6 feet tall or more, and then down the stairs to the host stand. We did not have reservations, so we were seated in the Lounge area, which is no problem at all.Our Server, Tatiana, took us through the menu, and we dug in. Shared the Warm Brie Salad to start, and dove into the Sirloin. The sides here are perfect to share as well. If you pass up on the 11 Cheese Mac and Cheese, you have missed an experience. The secret to that dish is it has 12 cheeses (Thanks for that Tatiana!).We did not save enough room for dessert, so we cannot comment on that.Funny how I haven't mentioned Bourbon yet...yeah, the list is extensive and includes all the local Bardstown distilleries and proper prices. When you include the atmosphere, people, chef, barkeeps, and slowing down for a bit, you cannot find a better place in Bardstown.

Skip this one folks. The atmosphere was fun as the place is in an old rickhouse and the restaurant feels a bit like a dungeon. Our server did her best to make up for the absolutely terrible food. The BBQ chicken was undercooked and had overdone texture. The brussel sprouts were in a pool of sugary sauce and were overcooked. The asperigus was the thinnest and smallest that I've ever seen. Combine that with a meh Old Fashioned and I'll not be coming back.

This place is a hidden gem!! The food was absolutely amazing. It has something for everyone. They had the best espresso martini I have ever had and a large bourbon list for my husband. The staff was so kind and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!!
Tricky place to rate. The veggies (Caesar salad and asparagus) were phenomenal!! I could easily have just had that and been delighted. My husband had the salmon and thought it was good. I had the half chicken and it was dry but ok. A friend had a steak and it was just ok.Drinks were ok.Atmosphere- it was cozy but a little dark where we were seated. We would come back and now know better what to order next time.
