We went here early evening Valentine's Day. They asked us if we had a reservation, which was hilarious because the place was empty. The pros and cons of this location are listed below. Pros: Ample free parking. Lovely atmosphere kind of glam meets Hacienda. Interesting menu a cross between Tex-Mex and a grill. Tasty margaritas. Complimentary chips and salsa. Fun spots throughout for selfies. Decorated well for Valentine's Day. Large ample seating areas both front and back. Large welcoming bar. Live music, at least for the holiday. And an extra special Valentine's menu. Fun outdoor seating, as well, which I'm sure will be very enjoyable in good weather. Cons: The food was terribly bland. Everything was verrrrryyyyyy under seasoned. Even the salsa has nearly zero flavor. Even the chips needed to be salted, and we asked for salt to be brought to the table, and they never brought it. Also asked for a salted rim on my margarita, which did not happen. My husband had probably the worst tamale of his life. It had virtually no filling, and the masa was inedible. There you have it. It's a shame because the atmosphere is lovely but the food is not. I might go back for a drink or two. I will not, however, be going back for dinner.

Based on our first experience at Garcias' newest downtown BG location, I would not recommend.Called to make a reservation for 6pm so we wouldn't have any issues getting to the show we had tickets for at 7:30pm. Didn't get seated until 6:30pm and it took awhile to get our food & drinks, plus our waitress never refilled our drinks, or checked to see if our food came out okay (my friend asked for her fish without the cream sauce, and it came out with cream sauce, but we didn't have time for them to redo so she ate it anyway). Food was also pricier than their other location, and it seemed like they had less menu options, particularly for vegetarians. Drinks were also not strong and were mostly ice...

Pretty disappointing place. Margarita was $15 and mostly all ice. Food came out and was steaming from being microwaved and was very bland. I will not go back.

The food is absolutely incredible. You would be silly not to eat here. It's a good price and everyone is super friendly.

3.7 starsGarcia's is downtown across from the Hot Rods stadium. The restaurant looked great inside and was clean with nice servers. The bar looked to be fully stocked, and the place can hold a lot of people. Stopped in for lunch, and the menu looks to be the same all the time, so no lunch specials per se. Prices seem to reflect the location and subsequent overhead involved. My food was plated well and the main had good taste. I felt it was not enough food for the price, but I also didn't want to spend $25 on a bigger lunch. I think I will have to try again for dinner and sample some of the seafood fairings that were Mahi Mahi and grouper to start. So...expensive for some good tamales and okay rice this trip.

The food was great and the staff was friendly, service was slow though. Went before a big event on a Wednesday night and almost didn't get our food on time to make it to the event on time.
