The bacon cornbread is always exceptional, the entrees/desserts were wonderful, too. The server was not the best as it took him forever to do a table check and us to receive ketchup/pre bus/order dessert. My husband and I have been several times and this was the worst service. About halfway through our meal- a very large party of I’d say 24 sat in the same room as my husband and myself. We couldn’t even hear each other talk. It was terrible and we had to rush to leave because it wasn’t the environment we wanted to be in. The loudness took away from the pleasurable experience.

We absolutely loved our experience at Hickory & Oak! We went tonight for NYE, which was the night we met 28 years ago. We loved everything we ate. The beer cheese and sausage dip was amazing! The 15 day dry aged NY strip to the salmon with bacon fried rice... melt in your mouth delicious. The Brussels sprouts and the mushrooms for sides were things I will crave and go back for. We didn't make it to dessert, so we'll go back to try those. Our waitress was fantastic! I was a bit cold, but we were seated next to the front entrance and we'd requested a booth that we didn't get, but it's a holiday and completely understandable. We are already planning to go again. The prices are also fantastic and the environment is so nice. I had read a few bad reviews, so I was a bit nervous. We live in Nashville and it was, hands down, the best food we've had. Amazing everything to Hickory & Oak!

The food is incredible! The most tender steak I’ve ever had (and my grandpa owned a meat packing and distributing plant!). The atmosphere was SO cool! Would love to know who built this place! BUT what really set it apart was the service - impeccable! Shane took such great care of our group as we celebrated the holidays with our company! He went above and beyond and was so knowledgeable about the menu items, flavors, and what paired best with our selections! Will definitely be back! Thanks Shane! You’re awesome!

After being shown to the bar I found I would be sitting between a bunch of people I didnt know. I would much rather sit alone, so I went back to the front to be seated (as the sign says) I asked for a table for 1, the incredibly gorgeous hostess advised me there are no seats all, and apologized. It was 730PM on a Tuesday, seriously doubt all tables were reserved till closing at 10PM I'm sure the food is great! However I can't tell you that because it seems this place only likes 2 or more sitting at their tables.

The first thing that stood out to me was the friendly service. All of the wait staff welcomed us and our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a nice ambiance. The food was a little pricey, but was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Ambience was nice, having the dry aged steaks up front was cool. The service was excellent, probably the best ive had. The food however wasnt the greatest. It was good but my steak was overcooked and didnt seem to be seasoned thouroughly on both sides. Their crab was spectacular thougg but the serving was really small.

They always have a great barstool special. My husband and I enjoyed going several times throughout the summer and most recently this past week even though it was cold outside they had heaters so we could still enjoy a meal on their patio. Drinks always great- food good. We had an issue with a very overcooked burger but they made a new one very quickly and the 2nd one was perfect. We’ve also done their chefs tables a couple of times. Thankful for this spot in BG!
