Mercadito Hispano is a hidden gem in Bowling Green! The staff was welcoming and I was able to browse the store at my own pace. While I came specifically for dried chiles and mexican oregano (all were well stocked), I had to grab some of their conchas. The texture and flavor make me feel like I’m back in Cabo; you can tell they are made fresh with love. Hands down the best pan dulce I’ve had in KY or TN.

Customer service is also great. Jose and Jackie always have a great attitude and smile and I love that about Mercadito.

? Even though these madcap Google map folks initially sent me to a defunct business, once I found Mercadito Hispano I was pleasantly surprised. Though it's a rather tiny market, they make great use of the space and as you'll hopefully see from my photos, their vast array of Hispanic offerings is impressive. In particular, you'll want to try one of their fresh baked goods which all look equally yummy. There's also a terrific selection of dried chilis and other seasonings plus plenty of refrigerated and frozen goodies to get your creative culinary juices flowing. Bonus points for the friendly staff who will happily answer any questions you might have. Also loved that it wasn't even slightly crowded and that they welcome EBT cards for those who have one. ???
