Was recommended this place by my coworker. My son and I both got the chicken Pad Thai and it was delicious. WAY more food than I was expecting! We weighed one of our containers when we got home and, even after my son had ate some out of his, there was over 2lbs of food. Can’t wait to try everything else on the menu!

Best Thai food around here, even better than ones I had in Nashville. I highly recommend coming here for authentic food if you have time to spare. There's only one person working, a older lady, who I assume is the cook, and sometimes I think her son or daughter come help, so just know you might need to wait a bit but the food is worth it, 10/10. I only had to wait like 10minutes or so both times I went though so it wasn't that long of a wait, and I love that food is cooked super fresh. Can't wait to come back again. The dandan noodles is my favorite, I like getting it Hot spiciness level, not the Asian Hot as that is too spicy for me but the Hot level is just perfect. Next favorite I like the glass noodle. There's a huge parking lot beside it and an outdoor seating area.
I have been here several times after my initial visit and each time is pleasant experience with great food. I love interacting with the cook lady every time I come here to order because she seems to genuinely love her business and cooking.

UPDATE (Sept 2025): I have been two more times and the food is consistently good. They have the best Pad See Ew I have ever tasted but so far everything we have ordered has been delicious.
We decided to try this place on the way home recently and we are so glad we did. I ordered the Pad Kra Pho and my wife ordered the Pad Thai. Everything is cooked fresh to order because when we got our order, it was piping hot. The togo containers were filled to the brim and both dishes were delicious especially the Pad Thai which is one of the best tasting Thai dishes my wife and I have had across Tennessee and Kentucky. We definitely will visit them again!!

If you haven't been to Smiling Mama, you are missing out on a hidden gem in BG. Portions are generous, staff are polite, and the food is delicious. Happened upon it on accident; saw it had good reviews and gave it a try. After at least a dozen trips, I can say quality is consistent and it's a favorite. Great that you can choose your spice level. Plenty of options but not an overly complicated menu. Serving is enough to enjoy half and save the other half for lunch the next day. Price is reasonable, especially given the portions. I don't think I could find takeout at the same price point nearby that is freshly cooked and includes vegetables let alone one so incredibly delicious. Highly recommend.
