About Buckingham’s Honey & Oak

Buckingham’s Honey & Oak serves delicious southern-style food and is a true gem in rural Kentucky. The customer service is as great as the food, with friendly and professional staff and an owner who welcomes guests like family and makes sure everything is ok. The menu has safe items for a gluten allergy, and the beef brisket, pulled pork, turnip greens, baked beans, and mozzarella sticks are perfect. Guests enjoy the Garden Party potato, the beef brisket and catfish, and the half and half with 2 pieces of fish, 2 frog legs, 2 sides plus 2 hush puppies. The ransom potatoes are bigger than other main dishes and have cheese, sourcream, a big helping of pulled pork and bacon bits. The 1/2 catfish 1/2 frog legs are pretty tasty, the buffalo chicken baked potato is a solid choice, and the banana pudding is another solid choice. The green beans are very good, the coleslaw is great, and the smoked cabbage was not a favorite. The grilled pork chop, pulled pork, potato, cornbread, and salad bar with lots of fresh toppings are great. The Kentucky Brown sandwich with mac and cheese is highly recommended, with tender and juicy turkey and a really special cheese sauce. Portions are so big guests cannot finish. Service is excellent and fast, and the staff are friendly and attentive. This is the only really decent food during a visit, and guests will be back.

Best bbq I’ve had in a long time! These folks are serving up delicious southern-style food and the customer service was just as great as the food. Not only did they do a great job explaining which menu items were safe for my wife, who has a gluten allergy, but I appreciated them welcoming us in like we’re family.

A true gem in rural Kentucky, don’t bother with the chain restaurants that pretend to serve southern cuisine (looking at you Cracker Barrel down the street)....read full review
The food was phenomenal, especially the spuds. Kayle was very welcoming when we came in and our waitress, Gigi, was lovely too.
We ate dinner here two nights in a row while studying at Mammoth Caves for a long weekend. I'm vegetarian and had the Garden Party potato. My husband, who is normally quite particular, was very happy with both the beef brisket and the catfish. And the mozzarella sticks were incredible! Serious, serious win.

The staff and owner were friendly and professional. Service was excellent and fast.

Next time we're back at Mammoth we'll be back here as well.
