If you’re traveling anywhere near Cloverport, do yourself a favor and STOP at Bert’s Rivertown Grill! This place blew me away—service is an absolute 10/10. The staff made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I walked in, and every little detail was handled with care. The food? Off the charts—another 10/10! I’m seriously still thinking about the country ham, egg, and cheese biscuit. It’s pure comfort and perfectly cooked, the kind of breakfast that could make you want to move to town just to eat it every morning. The atmosphere is small town Kentucky charm at its finest. Warm, cozy, clean, and even when it gets busy, everyone finds a smile. I only wish I could tip on a credit card, because the team absolutely deserves all the appreciation. And next time I’m getting the buffet! If you want a legit, unforgettable local spot, Bert’s will not disappoint. Highest recommendation—don’t drive through Cloverport without a stop here!
Bert’s Rivertown Grill is a small town bar with a solid little kitchen and a big dose of Cloverport charm. I stopped in three times during a recent visit, once by myself and twice with family, and every time felt like a laid back reunion with my hometown.
It’s located in the old Pantry building, which for me is hallowed ground. I spent more than a few nights here as a kid, “camping” with my brother and our friends Keith and Shane. We’d eat Pantry taters, guzzle Mountain Dew, and sneak peeks at the top shelf magazines that definitely weren’t hidden behind the counter back then. If nostalgia had a GPS, it would drop a pin right here.
The food hits that sweet spot between classic and comforting. I’ve had the burgers and the pork tenderloin sandwich. Both hit the mark. Nothing fancy, just exactly what you hope it’ll be when you order it. My son swears by the chicken strips. It’s not a menu that’s trying to reinvent the wheel, but it’s got all the staples. Burgers, tenders, pork sandwiches, even a good old fashioned bologna sandwich if you're feeling like third grade with a side of beer.
The place has live music, cold drinks, friendly folks, and a laid back vibe. There’s talk of fixing up downtown and bringing in more events, and it feels like Bert’s is helping lead the way.
And if you’re lucky, you might just catch a dog sitting behind the wheel of a parked truck like he’s waiting for someone to bring him a cold one. That actually happened.
Bert’s Rivertown Grill is the kind of spot that makes you glad you came home.

This family run restaurant is a staple of Cloverport. The food is consistent and the staff is friendly. They offer a buffet on Friday nights and Sunday brunch. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are filling.

We are not from the area but just happened across Bert’s. Food was excellent. The Bert burger was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. Onion rings were top notch. We will definitely be back.
Great local restaurant that looks like it has a band on some nights, the food was great 👍🏼
Great place for pizza, burgers and cold beer! Go support them!

We went in tonight to try this place out due to hearing all the good reviews. I had never been there before. We went in and sat down at a table. We sat for at least 15 minutes with ZERO acknowledgment. There were 3 other tables with patrons eating and a few people at the bar. The server walked past us twice (2 trips to and from the table behind us to take food and refill drinks) and never came to our table or even acknowledged we were sitting there. She left the table behind us the second time and went to clear dishes from another table. Another couple had entered and sat down during this time. When she went past them with the dirty dishes, she acknowledged them and told them she would be right with them. She promptly went to them with menus. They were sitting less than 5 minutes. Needless to say, we got up and walked out. I was really looking forward to trying this establishment out too.
Great pizza. Small town atmosphere. Great and friendly staff.

We drove down from Webster to visit Cloverport. What a treat! Bert’s is a great breakfast or lunch spot. I had the Bert’s Burger on Texas toast with Swiss and grilled onions. This was some of the best beef I’ve had. Definitely worth the drive.
