It's hard not to like Anchor grill. It's as "local greasy spoon" as it gets, but it has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Sort of if your Mom and a couple of her friends opened a diner, and you stopped in for dinner. The staff are friendly and polite, and the food is surprisingly solid. If I'm in the Midwest, I have to satisfy my breaded, fried pork tenderloin sandwich craving. Theirs is thin but decent, and you can't beat the price. Cash only. Give it a try. The pancakes look great. If you're not a local, be aware many restaurants here allow you to smoke inside, and this is one of them.

My go-to spot for American diner style grub. A short walk for me since I live on Main, so I will hit this place up for a tasty down-home breakfast when the mood strikes. Nothing fancy, just good food, good service. Bring cash!

We ate here while in town for a late dinner on Saturday night and lunch on Sunday. We went back because the 5 year old said it was the best burger in the world. The prices are so reasonable. The food is delicious. The decor has not changed in 50 plus years so if this is important to you don’t stop. If good home cooking at a great price is what you are looking for stop by. We had pork tenderloin, burger, omelets, French toast, grotto and the fried chicken which all of them were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. A good hidden gem.

The pancakes were delicious. The hash browns with onions were crispy and good, especially with their hot sauce. Their veggie omelette with peppers, tomatoes, jalapeños and mushrooms was perfect. We found this 78 year restaurant by searching Google Maps for a restaurant that served breakfast. Our waitress was extremely helpful with recommendations and attentive with coffee refills. She even opened and ran the “Band-Box” for us. It was only a short drive from I-71/75 and very worth it, with ample parking.

Everything is good, for a mom and pop diner it has a certain charm. The service is personable and the food is consistently above average, never had a bad meal here and if I had a better workout regiment I would come back more often. Regardless, a real good breakfast lunch and dinner if you love classic American eats

What's not to like? Great service, good reasonably priced food in a kitschy space.
