Harvey’s hometown bar has been a staple for years here in small town USA Danville Ky. I love the feel and atmosphere of this place and the people really make it what it is. Art in the kitchen is always throwing it down, putting his spin and touch on country comfort food classics.Today I had the shrimp dinner with fries and slaw but the real winner here is the collard greens! Saturated in juicy goodness every bite had a snappy texture and reeled with that tasty salty brine. One of my favorite sides! So much fun and smiles to be had here with friends and family!

Our first visit to Harvey's! We found ourselves in Danville and weren't familiar with the area, so a google search landed us at Harvey's. We chose to get some appetizers to share as our meal: pulled pork nachos, bbq wings, and chicken quesadillas. All were super yummy as cheesy fried foods typically are. I also had a margarita which was strong and delicious. The staff were all very courteous and kind and the food came out in a reasonable time as well. The dining area isn't anything to be excited about. A little dingy and humid. But, certainly a nice little hole in the wall!

Service was terrible. Server didn't know answers to hardly any questions she was asked. Found hairs cooked into my food, both my burger and onion ring, no one really seemed to care when I tried to tell someone about it. Finally someone came to see my food and took it away saying they would credit my bill. Couldn't get our bill paid and when we finally flagged someone down, the attitude was awful. Dropped off our receipt and didn't say a word. Not sure if we will ever go back even though our friend who took us there raved about the place on the way there.

Prickly pear margarita was far too sweet and syrupy. Pulled pork nachos were just bacon bits on store-bought nacho chips. Two older gentlemen at bar kept turning around to sneeze behind them without covering mouth or face with hands. Owner held court at a table while dining/ drinking and employees attending to her instead of checking on other patrons in an establishment with quite limited table seating. Maybe a good place to grab a cold beer at the bar, but nothing else really.

We tried the curbside service. Waited 55 minutes after the pick up time before receiving food. They were out of some of the food we ordered. They substituted a salad for mashed potatoes and French fries for fried cauliflower. I wish they would have called to see what substitutions would be preferred. The burgers were good. My son enjoyed the catfish and Pork nachos. Overall, I don’t feel it was worth the wait or price. Maybe it was just a bad night, it was our first time trying this place.

Good food almost. Seems to be decreasing level of comfort for non-bar patrons. Music loud and loud voice exchanges with fellow employees and bar patrons. I have always Iiked the atmosphere and friendly staff, but... Food was always good, now hit/miss. I know it is difficult to keep an establishment top of the line with all of the past regulations.

Had a great time at Harvey's for our party of 4. The service was friendly and on point. We had a water guzzler at our table, and they kept us pretty topped off. The food was delicious! I got the blackened mahi mahi off the specials menu, and I loved it. Our favorite appetizer is definitely the pulled pork fries and the chips come in a close second. Our standard order there is the brisket quesadilla if the specials aren't what we want. Absolutely cannot go wrong with that order. Our order was a little higher than normal because we were ordering to deliberately have leftovers for one of the couples since their living facilities weren't set up yet. You can easily order and get food for less than $20 a person, and it rivals anything you can get in Lexington. (I would know since I live there.)I normally remember to take photos, but the company, service and food were so good that I forgot. Next time then!

I don’t usually write reviews. Food is food to me. However I have been to Harvey’s twice being a Danville local, and have been very disappointed both times. The food is greasy and over fried. The last time we went my wife ordered nachos I ordered the burger, the burger was fine, the nachos were bland and dripping in grease. The service for us has been uninterested at best. If I were you, I wouldn’t go here.

Went here this week with a tour bus. Came with 29 people. Harvey met us at the door and welcomed us. We sat in the back room and had a great lunch. It was buffet style, of brisket, pork shoulder, potatoes, pork and beans, etc. Food was great. The brisket was cooked to perfection - easily pulled apart but not falling apart. Good mix of lean and fatty to choose from. Although all of the food was excellent that wasn't the best part.Upon leaving, Harvey offered to drive his truck as a lead vehicle for our bus to our next location - a distillery around 15 minutes away. He could tell the driver was struggling a bit on the tight roads and he knew an easier route to get there. He drove the whole way to the distillery just to show us the way!And that's not all.....About an hour later one of our passengers realized the left their charge card at Harvey's. Without a second though Harvey drove BACK to the distillery to come hand deliver the card .Crazy service by a gentleman who is truly passionate about his business. The restaurant may be named after his dad, but Harvey has done his father proud. Excellent food and exceptional service.

First visit to Harvey's last night. Fried pickles as a starter, very tasty. Definitely recommend getting an apatiser as it took a while to get our entrees. Enjoyed some drinks from the bar before hand. Dinner was very good, large portions of pulled pork. We we're seated at a table in the bar area last night which unfortunately was near the door...very breezy and at times cold. Lol. Good atmosphere and service.

We had brisket sandwich and ultimate grilled cheese. Both were very good.

I really think this is the best food in Danville! Everything is home made from scratch! I am a bit tough when critiquing food, so for me this is a place i always enjoy! Service is top notch as well! Love sitting at the bar with a great list of hands crafted cocktails!

Such a neat spot. Never been here before so looking at the menu was a tough choice. So many great options, staff was super friendly, the place was clean! No complaints at all. PS, the twisted fries and the pulled pork in general was the bomb!!!
