Ordered the “New Yorker” along with the Parmesan garlic bread. I don’t normally complain, but this was disgusting. I can’t even explain the disgusting bitter aftertaste of this food.

We live in the community and have supported this restaurant since it opened. We haven't eaten here in several months after deciding the menu items were over-sized and overly rich. We decided to try it again. We were promptly seated at our table for two. The table was in a dim corner and it was quite dark. I requested a table light/candle and told while they have table lights, they were all out of batteries. Malachi, our server, was attentive and overall the best part of our experience. The scallops appetizer was excellent and well-prepared and drinks were too. The Caesar salad was acceptable. My spouse ordered Oscar salmon special and I ordered the salmon dish on menu. Both salmon filets were cooked well, but overall the dishes were disappointing. My dish was overwhelmed by excessive cream sauce and far too much pasta. I was only able to eat a small portion. I would love for the chef to consider lighter pasta options as warmer weather approaches. We hope to support this restaurant again, but for now when we want Italian cuisine we'll dine elsewhere.

Our food and service were phenomenal. We had the stuffed mushroom and scallop apps. They were both amazing. The pizza and limoncello chicken were also top notch.

Overall we enjoyed this restaurant, with caveats. We were seated in a back room, where acoustics were horrible. The loud table close to us was so distracting & the room intensified the noise. Our waiter was delightful, attentive & competent. Wine & cocktails were good, but pours were scant. Our appetizer (meatballs) were delicious (as good as Jeff Ruby, I think!) but barely warm. Our house salads were mainly lettuce, disappointing. It went kind of downhill from here. Our entrees took FOREVER. The waiter apologized & said they had overcooked the steaks so they were going to recook them. I appreciated them making it right & the communication. He offered free bread & more apologies. The manager came out to communicate as well. At this point, we were understanding & patient. Our food finally came. We both agreed it was very tasty, yet almost cold, barely warm to be charitable. How does this happen when everyone seems to be eager to get our very delayed food to us? At this point we were starting to get frustrated, but No one came back quickly to ask about our food so we just ate it cold. When finally asked, the waiter apologized & offered free dessert to compensate. I felt like at this point free bread & dessert didn't really compensate for the issues. A manager eventually came around & we communicated VERY nicely that the food was good, yet cold. She apologized & said we'd definitely be compensated on our check & she appreciated our understanding. When we got our check they had discounted the entrees (not the whole bill) 15%, which was about $10. There was also a random 4% 'convenience fee' on the bill, which nearly nullified the discount. I hate sneaky fees & I feel like the "compensation' for a disappointing meal was, itself, disappointing. I understand things go wrong & am more than happy to offer grace. But they fell short of overcoming the deficiencies. Will we visit again? Prob give 1 more chance since food quality was good, hope for better table & hot food.

This is a top notch restaurant. I have tried almost everything on the menu and even done the pizza by the slice walk in door. The food is delicious and I haven't had a bad meal there. Their staff are all fantastic. Was waited on by Nate most recently and he's 5-stars just like the restaurant.

This was our first visit. We visited at about 5 PM on a Saturday. We didn’t have a reservation, but we're seated within 5 minutes.Once seated, our server told us of some delicious specials. We ordered one of the specials and oysters. We were also brought fresh bread with herb butter. My husband couldn't choose so the staff chose for him. He ended up with the lemon chicken picatta. As a man with Italian blood, he was in heaven. The food tasted so good. I went with the Lemoncello Chicken and devoured as much as I could after stuffing my face with bread and appetizers. My daughter got the kids' spaghetti and meatballs.Additionally, they have pizza you can order for takeout if you're looking for something quick and easy. The overall bill was just over 100.00. Although it's a more expensive dining experience, it is 100% worth each bite of food I got. This is definitely a nice date night restaurant. The atmosphere is quiet with a polished look. If you want an even more special night, you can get the room in the back that used to be the bank vault that's been fixed up. They have a good size bar area as well if you are just looking to enjoy a few drink on the town. This is hands down it is in the top running for the nicest place to have a romantic dinner and great food in Danville.Vegetarian options: Salads are available with pizza.Parking: Parking can be problematic depending on the date and time. It's all street parking, but it is free.Kid-friendliness: Their kids menu has a good amount of options and the price is very fare.

I came out to Kentucky to this restaurant due to the name. I thoroughly enjoy Italian food(having traveled to so many parts of Italy ??, focusing more to Sicilian and Sardinia)and wanted to taste what this lovely restaurant had to offer. My pallet and taste buds were pleased. It was well worth my trip here. The La Cosa Nostra restaurant has an early bird special at 4pm to 5:30pm for 29.99(a decent meal with vino and more). The 16in pizza(Margherita)with extra cheese was superb and the wine pairing rocked this meal. The Saltimbocca and wine pairing my best love and I ate was crushing every aspect of this dish, which slapped our taste buds respectfully. We had a couple other dishes as well. My best love(being born Italian)states compliment’s to the chef, I thoroughly appreciate the appearance and taste of this well prepared meal. The desserts are so good. You can’t go wrong. It was a delicious meal in Kentucky. The dining area was very clean, as were the restrooms. The entry was spacious and the Massarelli waterfall fountain gives a nice old world Venice vibe. It's a historically unique restaurant which used to be an old bank and still has the vault where you can be seated at a table inside.I Highly recommend.

Wonderful Italian restaurant with an early bird special! From 4 until 5:30 for $29.99, you can get a soup or salad, glass of wine, entree from a small selection, and a dessert. We opted for the house salad, I chose the white wine, and the Mrs had the red. The Mrs. tried the chicken parm while I had the chicken fettuccine, which was fantastic. For dessert, we had the gelato with caramel and chocolate. Everything was delicious, and we will definitely return!!
