We had a party of 8 and they were so accommodating. The bourbon selection is top notch. The food is delicious. The service was impeccable. No one had anything negative to say for the whole experience. We all can't wait to come back!

It’s fitting that Poulet is French for chicken; because, this place will PECK at you. They make you pay the 3% charge if you pay by card. They charged me $1 FOR ICE for my drink on the rocks! After having two drinks and an appetizer, I order an entree and my girlfriend ordered a side for her meal. They charged me an extra $5 because they thought we were sharing a meal! Food was mid as best. $28 for a bowl of chicken and dumplings, sans the dumplings.

After many years of wanting to, we finally made it down to Covington to experience this delightful place. If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you know I bemoan the lack of intensity, awareness and service at almost every place I visit. The Purple Poulet is an exception. The cozy atmosphere, attentive service, delicious and creative food, left nothing wanting. One thing that stood out to me, was as we entered at opening time and were waiting at the door to be seated, the bartender saw us and said that the hostess would be right with us, showing me right away that the “it’s not my job” attitude wasn’t here. I highly recommend The Purple Poulet!

We relocated the the Cincinnati 6 yrs ago from Buffalo, NY. I've always considered Buffalo a great food city second only to New Orleans. Friends took us here and all I could say was wow! Totally impressed by the well-decorated interior and cleanliness. I had the Shrimp & Grits (loved them) and others in our party had the Fried Chicken. My wife said it was the best she has ever had! We finished the meal with the Bread Pudding Souffle...if you've ever been to New Orleans this was comparable to Pascal Manales! This was the best meal we have had here!
The food and service were top notch. I do have a suggestion though. The entrance steps are quite difficult and an accident waiting to happen. Perhaps a solid handrail down the middle. I saw the small ones on either side but those weren’t helpful the way they are placed. We literally had to lean forward to grab hold of the post in the middle.

Excellent food and staff. The chicken, catfish and sides were cooked to perfection. Our overall experience was Amazing except we had to wait outside for about 5 minutes in 90 deg. heat because the manager would not open the door until after 5pm. If this is necessary to operate the business, do not set your 1st reservation for 5pm...set it for 5:15pm.

We absolutely love this place!! The family that owns it is wonderful and they’re always present and there to host. I don’t think I’ve ever had better fried chicken in my life. I wish I would have taken a photo of the sorbet they serve between apps and dinner because it’s such a nice touch. Highly recommend making reservations but this place is fantastic for any occasion!

The chicken is the best in Kentucky. The green beans were country style and awesome. Then the mashed potatoes with bacon and pepper gravy was awesome also. I definitely recommend this place. Just had the chocolate pecan pie with bourbon sauce with butter pecan ice cream, that was the best I ever had.
Went there 2 times in the past 3 weeks. Never been there before. Food was excellent. Drinks were excellent also .Had drink specials. All the people that worked there were 1st class and very pleasant. Will be our new go to place to eat. Thanks for the great experience.

Might be the best fried chicken in the city. Better batter than Libby's and way better sides than The Eagle, just as nice as Tousey House. The green beans were 🔥😋. I got the 4-piece chicken dinner.
Tried the sorbet and the corn bread and cinnamon bread with their homemade honey butter. The Cinnamon bread was heaven on a plate! The cornbread was the right balance of sweet and not sweet, fluffy, but not like cake.
The Saratoga chips were good, as expected, but the queso dip was great, thick and chunky, tastes like Hankey pankey topping that you put on the little rye bread squares.
