For me this is the best fried chicken of any where that I’ve ever been. I do always tastes my husband’s dish. It was very good as it is each time, but I can’t pass up fried chicken when I’m here. I enjoy every bite down to the last one. The chicken comes with green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. My husband had halibut which was so good and a beautiful presentation.

This is what happens when you try to get fancy without culinary knowledge. We had a chicken dinner and a rib dinner. Chicken crust was bland, but cooked well, green beans way over salted, mashed with gravy, mediocre. Rubs were well cooked, but lacking a good rub, and tasted like bottled BBQ sauce ( Kraft, Hunts, or similar commissary type). Greens in apple cider, way to sweet and vinegar. This is supposed to be a savory side! Max and cheese was the best of the meal, but it wasn't to write home about. Old Fashioned and Manhatten were both sub par. Nice dining rooms, we sat upstairs, but save your money. This was not a $160.00 diner value!

Every bite filled with flavor. Excellent. Exceptional. Irresistible food. My belly is is filled to the brim and I need to take another bite. Here is what I had.
1. Biscuits with peach jam. Flaky on the outside, soft on the inside. Soft like pillows, not mushy or starchy. I honestly didn't even need to add butter or jam. But when I did it legitimately elevated it to another level. The peach jam is fresh and not overwhelming.
2. Pork belly bruscheta. Moist. Buttery. Crispy pork. Explosion of flavor. Flaky bread base.
3. Shrimp and grits. Best shrimp and grits I've ever had. In terms of flavor and consistency of grits. So creamy and full of flavor. The shrimp had this really great crust that I can't really describe.
4. Fried chicken. Just imagine the best fried chicken you can have and just imagine that. I've run out of words for this review.

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to on either side of the river! The drinks, entrees, and dessert we had were spectacular. Come hungry because the portions are enormous! We left with bags of leftovers. Consider ordering the buttermilk biscuits—best we’ve ever had. And the fried chicken truly is wonderful. The service is spot on and the entire staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. If I could give this place an extra star I would!

We finally made it to Purple Poulet!! (They stop seating promptly at 8pm). I had a cocktail peach something with bourbon… they do slump on the alcohol!! It was very tasty!! We did not do an appetizer just went straight to dinner. The fried chicken 🤤 ohhhhh the fried chicken…. Did I mention the fried chicken!! Excellent!!! The sides were good too. Yall the service was 6 star. Kelly our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable! Oh we got dessert… bread pudding soufflé!! It is like no other bread pudding and at the same time better than any other bread pudding!! This is a must try!!!

Purple Poulet is definitely one of the top places for fried chicken in the Cincinnati area. Their chicken is delicious, perfectly breaded, and seasoned just enough to let the true flavor of the meat shine through.
The sides are also excellent, especially the green beans, which were my favorite.
They seemed to have some amazing desserts, but we didn’t get a chance to try them because the portions were huge and we were already full.
The only downside was the price of the cocktails. While they were good, $16 for a cocktail (especially with no prices listed on the menu) feels excessive. A well-made Old Fashioned with quality bourbon usually goes for around $8 to $12 in the area.
That was the only disappointing part of an otherwise great experience.

We visited the Purple Poulet for my son's birthday. The whole experience was perfect! The food was top notch (best fried chicken) & the waitress was wonderful! Also, if you like bourbon selections, I would highly recommend this place!

Went to restaurant tonight with family and ordered chicken per ratings. I found the chicken to be so salty that after one chicken leg, I couldn’t eat more- all of my family agreed it was way too salty. Perhaps it was a bad night but I was extremely disappointed.Sweet potato mash was good, but not hot. Pecan pie and ice cream were overpowered by alcohol and after two forks of it, I was done.

There were 5 of us in our party and everyone loved their food. Two people had the fried chicken dinner and said it was amazing. Two others had the shrimp and grits and they too were delicious. I had the Fricassee of Birds in a Nest which was similar to a deconstructed chicken pot pie that included wonderful buttermilk bacon mash potatoes and it was great! We also shared the fried green tomato pie and the beignets appetizer both of which were delicious . Also the portions were big. I took home leftovers. Great service and a friendly atmosphere “A must go to place!” You won’t be disappointed!

Group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed everything from the Blackberry Old Fashioned to the Fried Chicken, Bird in Nest, Halibut Special, Appetizer Deviled Eggs, and dessert to go!
Service was excellent and we will be back. We dine once a month as a group, rotating locations in the Tri-state area and this jumped to the top of the list of favorites.
