What a gem! I ordered a half sheet cake for my husband’s milestone birthday, and picked up a half dozen cupcakes for good measure. The birthday boy and guests raved about everything! That’s why there are no pictures — everything was devoured, with friends enjoying seconds and thirds!

The cupcakes are great…if you eat them same day. We had some cupcakes left over from my son’s birthday and they were dry and blan and wayyyyy too much icing! Usually we have to take most of the icing off because my little ones don’t like a lot of it. 4/5 because the are really good if you eat same day you purchase them. Only my experience, everyone is different. Will probably just stick with Meijer/kroger cupcakes.

We came in town to celebrate my aunt's 96th birthday and were looking for a bakery that had a variety of beautiful moist, rich tasting cupcakes. We found them at A Sweet Retreat. Each guest loved their choice of cupcake. The lemon raspberry with a raspberry filling tastes so good and reminds me of jellyroll I used to eat as a kid. We will definitely come back when we are in town with or without a party!

During a recent visit to town to see family, I had the pleasure of stopping by Bess's bakery. I purchased a variety of treats including cupcakes, sandwich cookies, macarons, and cake slices. Truthfully, everything tasted absolutely delightful. Not only was the presentation of the baked goods impressive, but the hospitality was equally outstanding.
Both Bess and the cashier made the experience memorable. The cashier was extremely friendly, patient, and informative, answering all our questions with a smile. Bess herself came out from the back to chat with my daughter, offering encouragement and advice on baking. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression.
It was definitely an experience and taste that my daughter and I won't soon forget. I highly recommend Bess's bakery to anyone in the area looking for delicious treats and wonderful service.

Just got the best cookies ever!! Ordered off of Shopify because we live in Minnesota. These cookies are SO good, exactly how we like them. We got 6 different flavors, and they are all awesome. I ordered cupcakes from Sweet Retreat for a coworkers birthday. I hit them on the Service stars only because I initiated conversation through the website and the response came through rather snarky. Each person I spoke to on the phone or in the store were quite pleasant so perhaps they just need to rewrite their electronic responses.
I requested a variety of cupcakes. I discussed with the shop via phone and after a quick discussion I left the flavor options up to the baker. She did a phenomenal job providing many unique cupcakes and frosting flavors. Everyone that participated in the birthday celebration were quite impressed with the taste and over all aesthetics of the desserts.
Will definitely visit here again.

Stop by to see our friend Des at a sweet retreat bakery to get a cake for a friend's birthday party. We went with the chocolate cookie dough cake and it was every bit as good as it looked! Had a great visit enjoyed our cake and made a big impression with such a quality item!
