Back Home Restaurant offers a delightful taste of Kentucky with their flavorful dishes. Very happy we made a stop here. The service was impeccable, adding to the overall dining experience. The honey chicken Mac and cheese was a standout dish, perfectly blending sweet and savory flavors. Loved the green fried tomatoes! The cozy atmosphere made it a memorable dining destination for my family. Highly recommended for anyone craving comforting Southern cuisine with a touch of excellence.

The first time I ate here was great but also during lunch time. 2nd time I ate here I called front desk and placed a salad. She told me I'll call you when your food is ready um weird but okay! I called back after an hour and said just checking on my food you haven't called. She said it's not ready. Another hour passes I calls to cancel and she said it's about to get made. Okay. She calls 30 minutes later tells me it's ready. I get there my chicken is icy cold on the salad. I didn't want to wait to get it remake. She said they had only one cook, understandable. If she told me that I would've never ordered. I calls today and she said we are no longer accepting take out that everything is on hold. Wow! Just wow! I keep trying this place over and over because I like to support small restaurants and the food is better then big restaurants but I think this place is going down hill and I'm sad about that. We don't have small Cafe or little mom and pops so this is a great small restaurant. I truly hope things get better there for the restaurant sake.

Oh my gosh- we came here for the first time on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch and loved the experience. You park in a small gravel lot, cross over a bridge and feel the warmth before ever stepping into the large house turned restaurant. And.... there is boutique shopping inside- both upstairs and in the waiting areas so be sure to go up and check it out!!! I had the most delicious fish tacos - the slaw mixture was melt in your mouth yummy and each of the 2 tacos came with a long hearty piece of fried fish. Heavenly! And our wonderful server brought us drink refills which I always love. It's a house- so tables and booths are set up throughout all the rooms . It's quaint and delicious. Ladies room is a one seater so plan ahead for a line! We will definitely come back here! It's worth a traveler's time to get off the expressway and support this home cooking restaurant!

Stopped here on a family road trip looking for something that would give a taste of Kentucky and this place didn't disappoint. The staff were all very friendly and the food was amazing. I got the chicken fried chicken. My wife got the honey chicken mac n cheese. Everything we had tasted amazing. Apologies for a photo with after a few bites were taken. Couldn't resist trying right away!

The food was amazing and the employees were outstanding! Pretty sure the food is all made from scratch and to order! I had the sweet honey chicken Mac and cheese and it tasted out of this world. My parents, brother and his fiance all loved the food. The employees were extremely friendly and the service was fast. The little shop in the front was really nice as well. A lot of really good smelling candles and trinkets. They even had candy and other snacks as well. Highly recommend trying this place out and if I am ever in the area I will go back!

Just left the almost empty restaurant after waiting 2 hours for our food to come. We were told “your food is being plated right now,” waited another 20 minutes, then stood and left.Edit: Forgot to mention that after waiting our first hour, an older couple that was seated minutes before us and had already ordered and eaten, was leaving and came to us saying “I hope you are fed! We saw you waiting and I wish we could have come given you some of our leftovers.”Horrible first experience in Elizabethtown, and never coming back to this place.

I have never had a worse restaurant experience in my life. There was absolutely no hospitality or care for customers. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, and waited over 90 minutes for our food. Our waitress said our meal was being plated, we waited another 20 minutes, and still nothing. We left after nearly 2 hours of not being served. Extremely disappointed in our experience and we will be telling others to never give this place any service. Do better.

This quaint house is charming. This place has a lot of potential. However, the waiting room needs to be cleared of all the items that are for sale and chairs/ benches put in place of all that. There are 2 chairs to sit in to wait. Next, the hostesses need training. Several people walked out because of them. They wrote names on sticky notes for a wait list. The hostess doing the seating could not decipher what the hostess behind the counter wrote. As a result, people were not seated correctly. Once seated, the waitress addressed my husband first. Women are always addressed first when taking orders. After she took our order we waited 50 minutes for two hamburgers. An order we did not think would be difficult to prepare. The burger was good the fries are battered and not our favorite. In the 50 min we waited the waitress never came to check on us to see if drinks needed to be refilled or to see if we received our order.

Stopped by Back Home Restaurant this evening and ordered the open faced roast beef and Mac and cheese (side item). The price is very reasonable and the open faced roast beef was scrumptious. The Mac and cheese on the other hand had something added to it that made me think twice about eating it. The decor was very nice and reminded me of how things used to be when I was younger. The service was impeccable also. I give Back Home Restaurant a 4* rating and if they take away whatever was on the Max and cheese I'll change my rating the next time I visit.
