Let me preface this review by saying that I lived in Japan for many years.I have experienced sushi good and bad. Kansai Japanese Steakhouse is excellent in all aspects as far as sushi and sashimi goes. I have not tried the teppan yaki meals yet, but I plan to in the near future. We opted for the Chef's special sushi and sashimi combo meal that also includes two very delicious sushi rolls. We added a side of eda mame for an appetizer. Everything was fantastic. The sushi and sashimi was very fresh. The rolls were amazing as well. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. If you find yourself near Ft. Knox, make Kansai a must experience on your culinary quest.

The sushi was excellent, it made my wife happy. The place was clean, and the forks were nice. Dinner is expensive, but so is anything anymore.Parking: Usually a hidden spot open by gamestop to save you from parking low.

Haven't been here for 12 years and decided to come back and try them out visiting KY. While they were good, it's not as good as I remember but I could also be spoiled due to other locations I go to in TX.

Service was terrible, the waitress was awfully rude and probably the worst Hibachi food I've ever had! Very dry steak and bland (missing ingredients like egg and butter) fried rice. Shrimp was fine though.Sushi wasn't very good either, just poorly made.

We checked the menu online for pricing and food options before going. The price of the food online does not reflect in house cost. We paid $19 for a crunch munch roll and I wish we would have left when we saw the prices. Not only was the pricing horrible, the amount of food you get did not reflect the price. For chicken and rice you get a small amount and some tiny bite size chicken pieces.I'm also giving this place a horrible review because as we had our meal I watched as a group of people were completely ignored at the hibachi grill. We had ordered and had our food by the time they just ended up walking out. The table next to us, the waitress spilled an entire drink on a woman (accidents happen I guess, but it just added to the chaos).I just know I've never gone anywhere and paid $19 for a sushi roll and if the waiter wasn't so nice (the only good part) then we would have walked out as well. I guess I should say, if we knew what we were getting for what we paid, I would have left as soon as I saw the prices.

We aren't from the area, and stopped in after a doctors appointment. We typically love Japanese food. This place however, the food was nasty. Service was great, they cared and waited on us. But the miso soup tasted soured and rotten. The salad, looked fresh it's just the ginger sauce was watered down as was the yum yum sauce. It was see through it was so watered down. The veggies on the bar tasted burnt. The shrimp was good, chicken was good. The rice tasted off, I had to load it up with the yum yum sauce to eat it. We normally get a side of noodles, something like lo mein and they got us an order and it was disgustingly sweet. I made sure to tell the server, hey man, we actually don't like these can you go ahead and take it back? And I did have to ask for it off the bill. I wouldn't tell anyone to go here. Maybe other stuff is good and we just didn't get, maybe it was a bad night?
