There's always hot freash food and Shoney's breakfast buffet is hard to beat. It was extremely busy one morning and they ran out of bacon. The waitress went in the kitchen and got 5 pieces for me. That was awesome and no one's ever done that! I was just letting them know. Totally surprised she did that. I can't remember her name but there's some awesome people that work there!

Absolutely the best breakfast bar and country dinner bar I've had in years. If you are within distance of here, it is Absolutely worth the trip.
We stopped in on a Sunday after visiting Mammoth cave and Lincolns birthplace. I was transported back decades to honest good food and sounds and service.
I was shocked when at 1130 they started flipping half the breakfast bar to a country dinner the likes I haven't seen in 25 years. Green beans, mash potatoes, corns, brown gravy, fried chicken, Mac n cheese...

If we lived within 45 mins, we'd probably be here every other Sunday.

Plus they have suckers when you leave!

As I entered I was seated pretty quickly. However I have some mobility difficulties and before I could say I would like to sit closer to the breakfast buffet I was seated the furthest away. When the waitress got to the table to assist in taking my order I felt bad for asking to leaving her table and sit closer to the buffet. Stephanie who ended up being my waitress was very kind, courteous and attentive. The breakfast was pretty good all in all but the sausage gravy was too salty and the grits were very bland. I would recommend the French toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, and hash brown casserole.

Decent food, some was cold even though it came from the hot bar. Overall an 'okay' experience.

The food was awful. This lettuce was wilted and brown. The fried chicken and liver was dried up like a hockey puck. The food selection was very small so we ended up just getting our check and leaving.

Busy lunch time period, cracker barrel was packed, and shone's wasn't. Decided on the lunch buffet and were we surprised. I had liver & and onions, which were cold. The mashed potatoes were like warm as were the green beans. Had a small bowl of brown beans with (jiffie) corn bread. The wife had a salad, fried chicken 1 pc, mashed potatoes, and corn. Drinks were coffee and unsweetened tea. With a military discount, the bill came to $32.12. What a shock didn't see a price for the lunch bar, but I didn't think it would be that expensive. Looks like eating out again will be done at home! Sorry, shoney's can't give a rating for non-eatable food.

I had heard about Shoney's breakfast bar, and I wanted to try it. When I walked in the resturant the facility was clean. Staff were circulating checking on customers and clearing tables as guests left. The breakfast bar was very pleasant experiance for me. I had scrambled eggs, 2 strips of bacon, one piece of baloney, 1 pancake with melted butter and hot syrup. There were a variety of toppings for the eggs and I added grilled onions and peppers. There were other dishes available that would allow you to make breakfast burritos. There was also biscuits and gravey and french toast. There was a selection of cold carbonate and non- carbonated drinks. I had coffee with cream and ice water. The staff kept my coffee cup topped off and I felt cared for and comfortable with their service. To finish off my meal I had peaches, cottage cheese and some pudding. This review does not include all of the fixings that were in the breakfast bar or the selections that were available in the menu. The Shoney's in Elizabethtown KY is definitely a place I will visit again.
