The waitress / female owner is RACIST. She has some internalized racism towards Asian people. Others have said the same (just sort by lowest rating and see for yourself), and that was my exact experience. She was very deferential to the white patrons in the restaurant. As soon as I walked in, her attitude with me was extremely rude and short tempered. I am Asian. Never again eating here!

Service is terrible! Rude owner!!!Just found this place and recently stopped in for some sweets to go. The female owner rudely glared at me when she asked if I could pay in cash and I answered sorry no cash on me. Then I asked for either a fork or a spoon to go with the cake I just purchased. And she said no, no fork, no spoon.I asked for chopsticks maybe? Sushi restaurant, got to have chopsticks right? Nope, “not for cake”.Awkwardly, I say, “looking forward to dinner here in two days.” As we had already made reservations for dinner this week, and was looking forward to that. Not anymore!

This is THE best and most authentic Japanese restaurant of NKY. A hidden gem with reservations required. My new go-to.

La Hiro is a hidden gem in the Cincy area for traditional Japanese cuisine. Our family absolutely loves Kiki for its modern Japanese flavors, but La Hiro is our personal favorite for traditional Japanese. We were shocked to be here between 6:30-7:30 on a Saturday evening and we were the only ones in the restaurant. That is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant of this quality. Don’t let the fact that it’s next to a liquor store in a small strip center turn you away. The quality and service are top notch…I just wish it was closer to home!

Lovely family owned restaurant. Reservation only so make sure you call before you go.Recommendation:The pasta is quite interesting, very strong sweet and sour flavor(I assume they only put ketchup in), different from the pastas we usually had.

La Hiro has become our go to sushi place. We were very sad when Miyoshi closed up shop but also glad that we found La Hiro after restaurants opened up again. We haven’t dined in because they are only open for lunch on the weekend. We regularly get to go dinners at La Hiro and quality is always top notch. I have tried close to 10 sushi places in NKY and for us, La Hiro has the best quality sushi especially when getting to go orders. Most places scrimp on the serving size and quality for to go orders but that’s not the case with La Hiro. The woman owner is gracious and always nice. No surprise there really. I’m sure the chef/husband is the same but I’ll be back of the house too if it was a two-person show.Sashimi is always buttery and appetizers are, well, very appetizing. I normally don’t get “fancy” sushi but that’s just my preference. Sashimi and nigiri is my jam. I’m from the west coast and La Hiro can hold its own to sushi restaurants there. Not quite the same as the sushi in Japan but still great food! I think 7/11 sushi in Japan is better than most to go sushi places in NKY anyways.Overall, I would recommend this place. The only thing that can be improved is if they served lunch some days of the week ? I’ll try to convince her one of these days.

La Hiro is a hidden gem! I have eaten here several times, and usually get sushi/sashimi, which is incredibly fresh and balanced. Last night I tried the Beef Teriyaki and Yakisoba, both of which were the best I’ve ever had. Desserts are also out of this world - super fresh and not overly sweet. The service is exceptional, and prices are unbeatable.

My sister's go-to place for sushi from Cincy, we order takeout and take the drive bringing everything back home. We ordered unagi/eel nigiri, two spicy tuna rolls, and a spider roll. The spicy tuna rolls were the best. It was my first time getting that roll and not having it be mushy, finely chopped tuna with spicy mayo holding it together. This roll was a strip of tuna with spicy mayo squirted down the line of it assembled like a subway sub. Cut into sushi-sized pieces, each bite was proportionate in fish-to-sauce ratio and felt incredibly fresh with the larger chunk instead of the usual paste-like filling. The only complaint I had about our order was the spider roll was incredibly salty. I didnt finish it because it was throwing off all the other goodness. I think it mightve been part of the batter potentially but wouldnt stop me from going back, maybe just not ordering that one.
