We have taken the tours before so we just stopped in at the gift shop this time around.

Absolutely loved my experience here! We went through the gift shop and picked up our favorites. The website tells you what's in stock for the day before they open. There were discounted whiskey glasses and a free root beer when I went in. There's always a tasting of some kind at the back of the gift shop, and just outside the giftshop, upstairs there's another free tasting of some of the things they sell. If you want to get something rare you should get there and line up early. Cars start to line up at 8, they let us in at 8 to park. Then there's another line in person outside, so bring some shade and water!

If you want to get the most popular bourbons like Eagle Rare, Blanton's, and Taylor, then you need to get into line at 8am for the parking lot and then stand in line for another hour before they open at 9am. Note: the parking lot will NOT open before 8am.
The people are very friendly. The visitors are friendly, too. They share what is in the area and why they are here and what they have done for their travels. So, waiting in line was a great time to get to meet new people.

Buffalo Trace has an awesome brewery with on of the best bourbons on the market. Their breath of bourbon selections is world reknowed. They have lots of free samples throughout the shop and tasting rooms upstairs.

Tours are available. Book ahead online.

We did a trace tour. Guide was awesome and very informational. The grounds are really cool. Even had a nice playground for my granddaughter. She was even selected to be his helper. The tasting was great. Also did a tasting of the Freddie's Rootbeer and cream. Delicious combo. Guide was phenomenal.

So busy popular and extremely long wait to enter. While on vacation. Too hot to stand on a long line. But I am sure it's a most popular place.

A great place to step back in time and learn about Kentucky Bourbon 🥃 The grounds are incredible for Photography with the old buildings, beautiful decorations and the flower gardens up at the mansion. The taste testing is fun and there is a variety of merchandise along with bottled products at great prices! They offer tours as well but book well in advance or call or stop in early in the day as there is often some availability of tours the same day depending on staffing. (This was a secret told to us by a long term employee)

We had so muxh fun. Although tours were booked up online, we were able to book tours when we got there in the morning. We did the Trace and Taylor tours on different days. Although the heat had me sweating out the toxins of my ancestors' ancestors...every employee was full of positive energy and enthusiasm. We did a tasing with Rick and tours with Michael G and Regan. Everyone was a blast!

**Buffalo Trace Distillery Review – An Unforgettable Family Experience**

What an amazing visit to **Buffalo Trace Distillery** in Kentucky! Our family trip was absolutely incredible, from the moment we arrived until the very last sip of their exquisite bourbon tasting.

The **facilities** are stunning—a perfect blend of history, tradition, and modernity. The old barrel warehouses, red-brick buildings, and beautifully maintained gardens create a charming atmosphere that immerses you in the heart of America’s oldest continuously operating distillery.

The **tour** was both informative and entertaining. We learned all about the bourbon-making process, from grain selection to aging in oak barrels. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and kept everyone engaged, including the kids.

But the highlight was definitely the **tasting session**. We sampled a selection of their signature bourbons, each with its own unique flavor profile—ranging from sweet vanilla and caramel to rich spices and oak. A true delight for the palate!

In short, **Buffalo Trace Distillery** is a must-visit in Kentucky, whether you're a bourbon enthusiast or just looking for a fun, historic experience. We left with unforgettable memories and, of course, a few bottles to enjoy at home!
