Best experience on the Bourbon Trail!
This winery is located in a beautiful castle, with a nearby river adding to the charm of the setting. It has a unique blend of old and new; I later found out it had been abandoned for years before being revitalized. The tasting experience takes place in a cave-like area, set up like a cozy little bar. Although their whisky isn’t my absolute favorite, it’s a fantastic spot to visit, whether for a tour or to hang out with friends.
This distillery has so much history. Our guide (Melinda) was excellent in detailing it from EH Taylor origins all the way to modern day Castle and Key. It’s one of the more unique and beautiful distilleries around and if you’re near Woodford Reserve it is a “must see” location only 8 minutes away from that.
The grounds are beautiful, and our host, Melinda, was very knowledgeable. Her attention to detail while telling us about the property's history was excellent.
Be sure to hit the most magical stop on the Bourbon Trail. Full of history and beauty and completely worth your time. It’s like stepping back in time. They have made great effort to make bourbon the original way yet update where needed.
Be sure to check it out. You won’t regret it.

I planned several stops on the Bourbon Trail for my husband’s fortieth birthday. This was our first stop on the trail and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

I have visited a lot of distilleries an t think this is one of my favorites. Good tour and a beautiful old Place. I think, i will come back in a few years to the the change there.
