I recently visited Cliffside Diner with a group of friends for breakfast, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable meals we've had together in a while. This cozy, down-to-earth diner has a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. Our group ordered a mix of classic breakfast favorites—pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, omelets, and plenty of hot coffee. Everything arrived fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of that comforting “made-from-scratch” flavor diners are known for. Portions were generous, and several of us ended up taking a little home. The service was excellent. Even with a larger group, our server was attentive, friendly, and quick to keep drinks topped off. You can tell the staff genuinely care about their guests and take pride in making sure everyone has a great experience. Cliffside Diner is the kind of local spot that captures the heart of a community: warm hospitality, great food, and an easygoing atmosphere. If you’re visiting the area—or even if you’re local and haven’t been yet—this diner is absolutely worth a stop for breakfast. We’ll definitely be returning on our next outing.

Rhonda and I stopped in at Cliffside Diner, and it absolutely hit the spot. She had the classic cheeseburger, and I went for the western burger — both were perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were exactly how you want them: crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned just right.
The atmosphere has that cozy, old-school diner charm that makes you feel right at home the minute you walk in. The place sits right along the hillside with a view that lives up to the name “Cliffside,” and there’s a relaxed hometown vibe — friendly staff, the sizzle of the grill, and a steady hum of good conversation in the background. You can tell it’s the kind of spot locals love and travelers remember.
If you’re anywhere near Frankfort, Cliffside Diner is a must-stop for great food, warm service, and that genuine Kentucky comfort you can’t fake.

If you want an awesome home cooked meal, this is your place. Our group had the Cliffside Burger, Meatloaf Platter, Fish Sandwich and Bean Soup and Cornbread. Every plate was enjoyed. Some of the faves mentioned were the Meat Loaf, cucumber salad, the burger and the cornbread. Yummy meal and service was great. Inside is a little cramped and outside is by the road but not a lot of traffic and woodsy surroundings.
It took over 45 minutes to get our food. If I had known we would have gone elsewhere. The outdoor patio is next to road, not the river.

Awesome food!! This is a don’t miss for sure! My husband had the bean soup and I had the mini cheeseburgers. Great service. We will definitely be back asap!

If you like “real” diners, this is the place for you! Great food, diner atmosphere. Only thing missing was the waitress call me “honey!” Both of us had their burger and they were great. Really could have split the dish and been full. Highly recommend this place!
