Went in for a birthday lunch my mom took me out too. I ordered crispy stripes from the kids menu because that is what I wanted . First the waitress told me I was not allowed to have to child size pop that came with it only water and when the strips came there was only one normal strip the other one was burnt and the size of a quarter and the third was the size of my pinky and burnt I askbthe waitress why and she replied that if u order chicken stripe it's just scraps from the other chicken so no telling how it will come out was my first time there and I will never go back

The food was delicious, my plate had the perfect balance of different flavors. I am eager to try more food from this restaurant.

Don’t be thrown off when you seem to be heading away from everything - this gem is nestled right on the edge of a neighborhood. We started off with guacamole (which had pickled red onions that MADE it) served with plantain chips - so good! My husband and daughter both got the sampler platter - so much food, an excellent variety, and all so delicious! I was pretty envious! I ordered the enchiladas and got one ground beef and one shredded chicken. Both were tasty, but my favorite of the two was the beef. I also ordered a side of sweet plantains, and they did not disappoint. My favorite thing overall was the mini canoas on the sampler - my daughter is not a fan of plantains, so she let me have it, and it was fantastic! We live in Lexington, but we will definitely be back to this restaurant, and I already can’t wait!

We love coming here, food is always good. This time holds a special place for us. Got married today and they brought us the “Tres Leches Cake” because they noticed our just married stuff on the jeep. After being completely full, we destroyed this cake with in less than a minute. Absolutely delicious!

Stopped here on the way through town. It was a great experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful and personable. This is a family owned business with a cool story behind their business. The food was some of the most flavorful I've had. I had the chicken carnitas and a coconut limonade. I would highly recommend as someone who regularly eats and enjoys this type of food.

A pleasant surprise while on Vacation. Honduran Mexican food hit the spot. Fish Tacos were amazing and the Jalapeño Shrimp in white wine sauce was delicious.

Our waitress was nice but honestly the food was Cold, legit no flavor at all. I had to coat my food in salt. And the bill!! It was 80$ for 3 people. For pretty much the chicken tacos for two people and some taco For the other. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m not mad. I’m disappointed.

Didn't even take pictures, we were too eager to dig in. We ordered the Anafres appetizer, which for our budget was a little high for an appetizer, but it was absolutely worth it, because it was bubbling hot with the meltiest cheese and the best beans and chorizo we've ever tasted.

My Partner ordered chorizo papusas dinner combo with casamiento (rice & red beans cooked in coconut milk), sweet plantains, and guisados beans (red beans & green peppers in yummy broth). It was also served with a bowl of shredded and pickled cabbage.

I ordered the jalapeno shrimp in white wine sauce, which comes with sweet plantains guisados beans, and chismol (Honduran pico).

We also split a mojito, which was full of fresh mint, lime, and mulled cane sugar.

The plantains, shrimp, and mojito were also the best we'd ever tasted, and the new things we tried were even better. My Partner was very happy with his first ever papusas, and that jalapeno white wine sauce on my shrimp dish? Run don't walk!

We saw the filet mignon with chimichurri come out to another customer, and it looked like a million bucks.

But all said and done, it was even cheaper than our favorite Cuban place in Louisville. We were over the moon with the food, the sweet smiles of everyone who served us, and the mission of Mami Mochita. A new favorite for sure!
