Great find! The food was great and everyone was friendly. We showed up 30 minutes before closing time and they waited on us like they had just opened. Btw 15 minutes prior to closing is the cut-off. We ordered the catfish plate with greens & cabbage and the chicken fried steak with greens & mashed potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and had that good ole homemade flavor! That’s fried cornbread they brought out which is also made per order. I could tell they were tired...
Don't pass this diner up. We stopped here while on the bourbon trail based on the reviews, and everyone was spot on. Melisa and team are phenomenonal, making you feel like a regular as soon as you walk in. Food was flavorful, plentiful and decently priced. We had the omelet (made any way you want) with hash browns and biscuits (all sooooo good). Also, the grits, 2 sunny side up eggs with bacon and biscuits (grits the way they should be). This is the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Inexpensive, fast service and the retro atmosphere of my youth. You get in, get your food, enjoy it then pay. No frills, all feeling satisfied. Will continue to drive the 30 minutes to eat here.
