Pulling up we thought it was just another over-hyped bbq place but we were very wrong. The place has amazing staff, great family atmosphere, and even better food. What a great BBQ place. Highly recommend. Everything was fantastic.

We're not from around here, so we seen stax bbq and was initially excited to try some one else's bbq. Totally experience was disappointing with one exception - the lady that took our order was nice. We put our order in (leaving a nice tip for a fast food restaurant) and sat down to find a dirty table. We went up to let the staff know and they handed us a wet towel to clean it.
That wasn't brisket - stiff, fake smoke ring, and three days old flavor, and the chicken was extremely dry and awful tasting! The bbq sauce didn't help at all. I don't know why they call that a bbq establishment because it wasn't. We're from the mid west and we know how to smoke food and that wasn't, sorry that's not bbq. 3/4 of the meal was thrown away. The beans were good though🥲, and the ice tea needed to be brewed longer.

The beef brisket is outstanding. The barbecue is good Fridays they have fried catfish, which is great an old-fashioned barbecue joint with the blues playing and atmosphere is nice. People are friendly. Service is great.

Food was unseasoned. Meat was extremely dry. Even the sauce couldn't save it. Mac n cheese had zero seasoning, green beans zero, baked beans zero. Staff didnt even know what type of sausage they carried ( training issue).

Have eaten at Staxx several times but today's experience prompted me to write a review. Stopped in at 3pm with my family today for a late lunch early supper. Normally when you go to a restaurant that time of day the food is sub-par, not Staxx. The food was fresh and delicious. We did have to wait 7 minutes for them to cook the chicken tenders but I was told up front and I didn't mind waiting on fresh tenders. My wife is Gluten sensitive and has no trouble finding food to eat.
Was on a bourbon tour and driver took us here. For and service was excellent.

Had the pork, brisket, and sausage. Sausage is a bit unusual choice for me, but it was possibly the best of the three. Both the pork and brisket were very good, lean - maybe just a tad on the dry side. Baked beans had chunks of meat, but not standout flavor. Potato salad bland imo.

Lived in Ky my whole life and finally came to Frankfort for the first time. Tour brochure said this was the best bbq in Frankfort. I beg to differ! Very dry meats! The actual restaurant is DIRTY!!! Feet stick to the floors, tables were sticky and flies were flying around everywhere! The customer service was top notch though!!!! Place just needs a major deep cleaning!
