I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were overly thick. They definitely should have been creamier. The Bacon, wrapped around the shrimp, was flimsy and almost raw. The bacon should have been crispier. However, the worst offense was barbecue sauce. The dish was overly saturated with barbecue sauce, which overpowered any other flavors that may have existed. This sauce was not complementary and didn’t belong. On the plus side: the shrimp were plump and cooked well. The atmosphere was inviting and we enjoyed some live music, while dining! I will be back for another try, but will stay clear of the shrimp and grits!

The Brown Barrel has a wonderful atmosphere to meet up with friends. The food is superb. I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were jumbo and the grits were cooked perfectly! I will definitely be going back very soon.

From the moment we stepped in the doors we were greeted and made to feel welcome. Our server watched our every need. The bacon wrapped shrimp over grits was to die for. 5 🌟 We will be back.

There is a waitress there that added more money to her tip. Watch closely.

Love the service and atmosphere but the food is no better than reheated frozen food. We paid $105 for a family meal and no one liked the food. I almost made a complaint but it’s not the waitress fault the food sucked. Even the chocolate cake was the smallest slice and tasted less than a grocery store cake.

Eaten here once, later at night.... They swapped bartenders so the mixed drinks changed quite a bit between the two.... The service and food were both on point

Came here with 20+ from a girls softball tournament. Food is great. Service was great. Bring an appetite because portions are huge. Got the pretzel appetizer, you could make a meal of. Go the country beer batter fish. It's a slab and cooked great. Daughter had a cheeseburger and it was really good. It was cut with brisket. Wife had a club sandwich that could have fed 2 people. Definitely a must stop when in georgetown

After 15 minutes of sitting at our table, we had to flag down a server. The two "Woodford Manhattans" were watered down. There was blue cheese on only a portion my wife's burger. I had a pretty average tasting Cuban sandwich and my side of black beans was tasteless. The only bright spot was Garrett, our server who was gracious and attentive. He apologized for the long wait.
Total cost: $ 72 for a hamburger that lacked the cheese ordered, two watered down drinks, and a mediocre cuban sandwich with bland black beans. $ 12 was for Garrett.
Overpriced for mediocre food. This was our second disappointing meal here. Won't be going back for a third.

Not too good. Service was great, food was not good. Both steaks were so over cooked, salmon was over cooked- almost inedible. Doubt we’ll be back.

The place wasn't that busy for a Sunday early afternoon. We had a table of six old friends who wanted to catch up. Many appetizers to choose from, we had calamari and fried green tomatoes. Everyone shared and agreed both appetizers were good. Entrees were: Grouper fingers, shrimp and grits, catfish plate, and BLT. Sides were salad wedge, house salad, and fries. All were good but the catfish was a little undercooked. The restaurant was a little loud but we were all able to hear the conversation. The server had a little bit of trouble getting the checks sorted out correctly but overall the service was good. The price was a little high, but everything is overpriced these days.

When walking in I immediately thought I might be underdressed for this restaurant. But was seated by the door. Restaurant was empty besides a few people sitting at the bar. Glancing around it looks really cute but needed a sweeping and tables wiped down. The cloth napkins were a nice touch but was covered with pet hair. So didn’t use. We placed order and it came out. Grouper fingers, calamari & banana peppers, salad and drinks. It was good but not great. Grouper fingers were overcooked on outside and undercooked inside making them gooey not flakey. Lemon wedge with grouper had hair on it. Chicken on the salad had a few inedible overcooked pieces. Calamari had a marinara sauce that was runny.
