Came here for my birthday on the last day of Dine LA. Put both specifications in the notes of the reservation. No birthday greeting at check-in, had to ask for the DineLA menu even though I specifically clicked on this option, and absolutely no birthday acknowledgment at any time during the dinner. Not even a candle on the desert. Service was subpar for the price. Just an order taker with nothing special to offer to enhance the experience. Food was good, but nothing with a wow effect. One and done.

We had a delicious dinner at Koi. The sashimi was incredible, both the kinds on the standard menu and the specials. My husband doesn't eat fish, so he ordered a beef filet entree and it was melt in your mouth tender. Beyond that, the flavors were wonderful, and it really made him happy (since going to Koi had not been his first choice). We enjoyed a great evening with friends and the food, ambiance and service at Koi made it even better.

It was decent, bill was a couple hundred, I chose a lot of food and the portions are small, faves are the dragon roll, lobster tacos and pear caramelized crepe.

We had a lovely experience with everything. I just want to mention that servers reaching to clean the table that frequently was a little bit nor adequate for a dinner date. Also the server wasn't taking time to really give suggestions based on our preferences.

The food took way too long to come out, and I specifically asked for no spicy, but they still brought spicy food. My friend got sick because she's sensitive to it. I feel like the waiter wasn't paying attention at all, and everything was super slow.

Food and service is exceptional. It is definitely pricey, but hey, it's LA. Every dish was a hit. As others have mentioned, the service was outstanding. I can't recall a restaurant where the wait staff were so attentive. You definitely want to be seated in the main dining area. Unfortunately we were sat in the back/side area which lacks the ambiance and 'buzz' of the main dining area.
